UPDATE: Finally got to try their food after the owners reached out and invited us back.
Great food and good value for money. Particularly liked the "swicy" sauce.
They did not ask me to edit my review, but would like to commend the owners as they showed their commitment to customer satisfaction and turning a negative experience into a positive one.
A big step in the right direction. Will definitely visit again.
This establishment needs to understand that a business should go beyond mere "transactions", and strive to provide a good overall customer experience.
The staff were inattentive and failed to check on our needs throughout the visit- and we were the only ones there!
First had payment issues. where the till approved our payment (confirmed transaction with our bank app, and showed it to staff) but the kiosk showed a failed payment. Tried it twice, so there were 2 transactions in our account.
Staff wouldn't help because the transactions were not showing in their system, and offered no solution whatsoever. Didn't even bother to check what was causing the issue.
I had to be the one to suggest for them to manually take our order, and out of good will, exchanged numbers with the manager, so that in case our bank reverses the 2 transactions, I can do a bank transfer later on.
After 30 minutes of waiting, we followed up on our order, and we were told by the staff that they thought we had cancelled our order!
Had there been a "miscommunication", despite asking them to write down our order, they should have been attentive enough to see that we were occupying a table for 30 minutes already. The least they could have done was...
Read moreIf you haven’t tried Nene Chicken yet, you’re seriously missing out on one of the crunchiest, juiciest Korean fried chicken experiences out there. I went in expecting the usual fried fare, but what I got was next-level. Their chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside while staying incredibly tender and flavorful inside — and somehow, it doesn’t taste greasy at all. Every bite had that addictive crackle you only get from really well-fried chicken.
What really sets Nene apart is the sauce game. I tried the Snowing Cheese and the Original Spicy, and both were absolute flavor bombs. The cheese one is sweet, savory, and totally unique — kind of like a cheesy corn snack in the best way. The spicy sauce, though, was the standout for me: bold, sticky, just the right amount of heat, and it clings to the chicken like it’s meant to be there. Bonus points for the pickled radish and side dishes that balance out the richness of the chicken perfectly.
The vibe at Nene Chicken is relaxed, and the service is fast and friendly — which makes it even easier to keep coming back. Whether you’re eating in or taking it to-go, the quality stays consistent. Honestly, I walked in curious and left completely hooked. Nene Chicken doesn’t just do fried chicken — they’ve...
Read moreChips were cooked perfectly, fresh, crispy, the prices are fairly low and the workers were friendly. Their ranch sauce was delicious. The water and utensils are easily accessible. The place was clean. They offer gloves and a small rubbish bin to dispose of bones which is good.
However, I have been to Nene Chicken 3 times, and each time I have been disappointed. Today was the third and final time I attend. Each time i have ordered some sort of chicken, and each time it has been UNDERCOOKED. This is obvious upon first appearance, as the batter is not golden or brown, but a more pale colour. The clearest givesway, however, was the fact that it was PINK, EACH TIME. I like salty foods but the chips and chicken were way too salty. and the chicken was so greasy that grease was literally dripping off the meat. You would think that for a shop solely based around chicken, that it would actually be cooked right. The stools are uncomfortable to sit in and should be replaced with proper chairs. AND finally, it took over 20 minutes, for chips and fried chicken. The store wasnt busy and the order was small. Needs a fair bit of improvement. It is closer to a glorified fast food store, rather than a well...
