When it comes to Thai cuisine, this place is doing something special. Walking in, you're greeted by a vibrant symphony of smells, wafting from the kitchen, which paints a tantalizing picture of the flavorful journey that awaits. Every dish here is a love letter to Thai gastronomy, crafted with an innovative touch, high-quality ingredients, and deep respect for tradition.
One particular standout is their green curry. It's nothing short of a culinary marvel, redefining what Thai comfort food can be. It’s a melody of velvety coconut milk, smokey paste, harmonizing with the fragrant basil and heat from Thai green chilies. A real flavor bomb that makes you stop mid-chew to savor each mouthful.
But it's not just the food that's noteworthy. The ambiance is something else. Situated right next to the park, the restaurant offers lovely views that you can lose yourself in while you enjoy your meal. The sight of the lush greenery, the setting sun painting the sky, or the tranquil moonlight gracing the park landscape as puppies run around the green.
What really rounds off the experience, though, is the staff. They're not just friendly - they're genuinely passionate about their work. They guide you through the menu, chat about the dishes, and ensure that your meal is perfect. You feel welcomed, appreciated, and eager to return.
In short, this restaurant is the complete package. You get to enjoy delectable, authentic Thai cuisine, relax in a delightful setting with a lovely park view, and be treated to exceptional service. It's not just a meal, it's an unforgettable experience that will keep you...
Read moreProbably closer to a 4.5 really, but will rereview when I visit again. Difficult to allocate a 5 unless it's almost perfect. A welcome addition to wollicreek, compared to what we have around. Probably the 2nd best restaurant in wollicreek after Yan. The pad thai was excellent, I love how they got the texture just rite and had the little radishes in it which I haven't experienced in a while. The prawns were done perfectly and they kindly accommodated the beansprouts to be well done. A slight kick in the dish but my 10yr old was able to eat it still. The papaya salad.. was fresh, but quite a small serve. Mostly was held up with lettuce leaves. The fried chickens skin on the top was nice where the bits were crunchy, but there was also some bits that still had feathers on it, and you can really taste the fat going soggy. Probably wouldn't be reordering this one. Prefer the more traditional style papaya salads. It's promising tho, and i do look forward to going back when there's more on the menu to try. There is a good wine and cocktails list too. But I didn't get to try one tonite as it was just a quick casual meal. In terms of value, this is subjective. Sure it's a little more expensive than other options around for the portion size, but then the quality is much better than most other options as is the service. I think...
Read moreIf ever there was a restaurant whose food reflected the passion of the owner/head chef it is Maysa. From the moment you walk into the warm and inviting space, you’re met by equally warm staff whose mission it is, to ensure your time there is comfortable and well attended.
Clearly well trained, the front of house staff are hospitable and attentive, explaining the menu and ready to answer questions with the confidence that comes from a thorough understanding of, and appreciation for, the venue they represent.
As for the food, in a word, it is sublime. There are insufficient adjectives to approach the quality of the cuisine and the joy with which it is served. Every dish is a culinary delight and the symphony of finely balanced flavours is Mozart-like! Mawan, the Head Chef makes her own curry paste - a secret recipe - that is the signature of a number of dishes but none more so than the incomparable masaman curry. The servings are generous and the value evident from the moment the food starts arriving.
The wine list perfectly supports the food, and there’s an ample selection of delicious cocktails, mocktails and beers.
