Nando's Broadway Shopping Centre — Restaurant in Sydney

I had to race home and leave this review! My friends and I, group of 4 girls decided to dine in. From the moment we approached the restaurant we were greeted, handed menus and directed to a table. As a Peri perks member I used my phone to order, however I wanted to make an adjustment but was not able to do so in the app, so I approached the counter. I enquired of the new churrasco item and asked if I could customise it to a wrap - the staff mentioned it wouldn't have the garlic taste, however I didn't mind. I further enquired if there was much salad and he stated there was lettuce. I asked if there was another item on the menu burger/wrap that had more fresh ingredients and he gave me a suggestion - however I didn't want bacon. The staff member was kind enough to offer me add ons of tomato and extra salad to my wrap without extra charge. Our meals came out very promptly, very well presented, portions sizes were great and the staff were very hospitable. Another staff member was clearing a table next to us and accidentally dropped a bowl which broke. We all enquired if he was alright - he was very apologetic, but we said to him please don't worry it's ok. My friend told him he was doing a great job. After we had finished eating, the same staff member approached our table - he asked if we would like dessert/ a chocolate mouse. I said thank you, that's a nice offer, but didn't realise he was gifting it to us. We all agreed and thanked him for such a kind gesture. When he returned he thanked us for making his night when he accidentally dropped the bowl. We again said it was ok and we really have appreciated everything he did for us tonight. Upon leaving I thanked the other staff and left. All this to say - I know sometimes we can get caught up in our own lives - not take notice and be so focused on ourselves. Little did we know we made an impact on that staff member tonight. It never hurts to say thank you, to be kind and to treat your waiter or a food server with respect. My heart is so warm from such a lovely gesture. I'd never say no to a free chocolate mouse! I'm sad I didn't get the staff member's name - but if by chance he sees this. You're amazing, keep doing the great work you do and I hope to see you again the next time I'm back. Last week my partner and I visited here. Once we placed the order, it took 40 mins for the food to arrive. In the meantime, I had to go to the counter twice to check the status of our order. Finally, when the order arrived, I realised that one of the two meals rested on the counter for almost 15 mins before it got served and the other meal was a wrong order. Specifically, we are vegetarians and got served meat. By this time, we had enough, walked over to the counter (third time), and requested a refund. We provided the staff with our details and got told that the refund can take up to five working days. When I received the refund on the fifth day, it was gobsmacking as only 13.50 dollars were refunded, whereas we spent over 40 dollars in the store. I realised I got charged for one of the meals I never consumed. Nandos has given me the impression that one person in a couple can eat and finish their meal while the other can wait, watch and starve. I do not know what to say here apart from calling it a day-light robbery and outright rudeness. This was the last time we visited this place, and we will be avoiding Nandos from now onwards.
