We had a quick Sunday breakfast at this new outpost of the famous pastry place in Five Docks (originally) and ordered their cinnamon roll plus a cup of cappucino. The roll pastry is really good with nice crumbs and buttery smell, though not having strong cinnamon fragrance and excess sweet taste. The coffee is nice also.
The next Sunday we were back and tried their famous pistachio cream croissant and very glad with the choice. The croissant is standard and good, but the star is the cream filling which is just adequately sweet (not too much), and has a nice smooth & creamy texture with pistachio smell. Their black sesame cream croissant and ham & cheese square pastry are also very good.
We like the place with good decoration though not big, but you can still have a nice meal with friends. The place also provides nice cold tap water bottles for customers to enjoy in the hot summer days, which is rare nowadays. The customer services from staff members are reasonable for pastry cafe. You can pay with usual credit cards, but you'll get 10% discount when paying with cash. I wish they can open new branch in Sydney North Shore, closer to our home and we can enjoy their...
Read moreThe Pastries were delicious BUT the service unkind and unprofessional. I went there with my friend from very far to have a warm fresh pastry out of the oven but when i saw the pastries on display I thought "Ok, i'm just going to have the pistachio croissant warmed up and any freshly baked one from the trays"
So I asked her If I could do that and she said that nothing w toppings could be warmed up so I said Ok can I just get any warm pastry out of the oven and she said "Oh no, these came 2 hours ago but we never put them on the fridge". Very disappointed I just got 4 pastries thinking on eating at home a little bit warm but while I was waiting I saw how they were constantly bringing warm pastries to the back so I came to her and ask again, are any of those warm? and she said yes, so I bought a 5th pastry and it was great but seemed that she didn't want to please the clients and just smiled with a fake smile to me.
I wouldn't come back if she is on the front house but very nice pastries, however I know places with same or better quality and warm...
Read moreIf you are looking for the best croissant in Sydney, I mean THE BEST, look no further as Buttercrumbs Ultimo has it figured out for you! Buttery, flaky, light and perfectly baked croissant goodness. Ham and cheese is my go-to order. You might think it’s boring but there’s really something special in it that will make you come back for it — it’s usually sold out before noon. Their pain au chocolat is to die for, too! They’ve also got a lot of other croissant options, you can come back daily for a week or two without repeating your order.
Besides pastries, they also offer coffee. I am no coffee connoisseur but I know a good coffee when I taste one, and that’s exactly what they’ll give you. Their store is always clean and has a chill vibe to it, with great music on play. You’d definitely enjoy your breakfast when you dine in. Plus, the entire Buttercrumbs Ultimo team are super friendly and nice, which will make your dine in experience even better!
PS Iced sparkling green grape is a must try!!! Perfect summer...
