No.1 Malatang - Rhodes — Restaurant in Sydney

I recently visited No. 1 Malatang at Rhodes, hoping to satisfy my craving for a classic spicy malatang soup, especially given the chilly weather. Unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired.

The soup itself was a major letdown. Instead of the rich and robust flavor I was expecting, the broth was watered down and bland. It lacked the depth and spiciness that is characteristic of a good malatang. This significantly diminished the overall enjoyment of the meal.

Moreover, the selection of toppings and condiments was quite limited. Part of the appeal of malatang is the variety and customization it offers, but the options here were disappointingly sparse. This further contributed to a lackluster dining experience.

Ordered from here via uber eats on a Sunday night. Be warned, unless you like spending $22 on a bowl of instant noodles you should order from somewhere else. The soup I recived had 2-3 packets of instant noodles, 1 giant broccoli stalk, 2 pieces of thin beef roll and a bunch of cabbage I didn't order! The soup was not filled even to the top of the ingrediants. No contact to let me know they were substituting ingrediants or to ask if I wanted something different. Because it's weight based they just throw in extra noodles to make up for the lack of ingrediants you ordered! To top it off it took over an hour to go less then 10 minutes away and then when asked why the order was wrong I was told "well it's busy so we don't have the ingrediants"!! Then close! Today ! I was ordering for take away! And than after me have 2 other person to orders ! And than 2 person order after me their got the food already take away also! I’m asking the counter guy , hi why my one it’s done? He say my one dry one take a bit long. Oh i get it. Im just ask why her one dry one also and she ordered before me. Why she got first than me. He was rude! He say i told u ! Your one dry dry!
