This weekend, I treated my partner to a meal at this restaurant, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the staff who treated us with the utmost respect, instantly making us feel right at home. The ambiance was charming and inviting, setting the perfect tone for the evening.
As we perused the menu, we were impressed by the variety of dishes available, each sounding more tempting than the last. We finally made our selections, and eagerly awaited our meal. When the food arrived, it did not disappoint. Every dish was a masterpiece, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.
What made the experience even more special was the personal touch from the head chef. Throughout our meal, the chef made it a point to come by our table to check on us, ensuring everything was up to our standards. He also offered insightful recommendations on what wines or sides would pair best with our choices, enhancing our dining experience significantly.
The attention to detail and the commitment to customer satisfaction were evident in every aspect of the service. It’s clear that this establishment takes pride in creating a memorable dining experience for their guests.
I am eagerly looking forward to returning to this wonderful restaurant in the near future and will definitely bring along some friends. It was a genuinely unique and amazing experience that I can't wait to share with others.
A special thanks to the head chef who made our Saturday night dinner truly unforgettable. Your dedication and passion for your craft shone through and made our evening extraordinary. Thank you once again for such a...
Read moreThe most disappointing experience I’ve had a in a very long time. $150pp and it’s only a choice between 2 mains but my partner and I couldn’t have different options. Portion sizes were abysmally small for the price in my opinion, each person ended up with each 2 oysters, 2 slices of bread, 3 slices of kingfish, half an octopus leg, half a tiny beef cheek, some mashed potatoes, lettuce leaves and a slither of cake and cream for dessert. If they’d double the portions, that’d be more in line with the asking price. To be fair though, the food was tasty, oyster dressing was great and beef cheeks were tender with good flavour.
I usually take photos of everything but I was so disappointed that I didn’t even bother. To top it off, despite putting our allergens on the booking notes, accommodations couldn’t be made and instead of cake, my partner was given a plate of cut up rockmelon.
They claimed it wasn’t on the booking but they were happy to read the comment where I said I wanted the $150 menu despite selecting the $90 menu. To add insult to injury, we were told how sweet the melon was, how he got it from a neighbour and only cut the sweetest bits and that the cake they presented was only for special occasions (it was meant to be similar to a lava cake but there was no ooze or liquid), it’s the sort of spin I’d expect from a real estate agent or used car salesman.
Honestly nothing about the night felt special, instead all I felt was being milked for Valentine’s Day. It’s a real shame because their normal dishes...
Read moreMiddle Eastern and Japanese fusion cuisine was intriguing 😶 The restaurant had a warm and subdued atmosphere. The staff were so lovely 🥰 The service felt personalised as they were very friendly, attentive and explained each dish. The staff are opened to make drinks according to your preferences 😊 The food was delicious and the flavour profiles were quite unique. We ordered:
Sydney Rock Oysters ($7 each): The oysters were creamy, velvety and fresh. The pomegranate granita added a tangy touch of sweetness and textural dimension to each bite.
Wood Roasted Octopus ($36): Possibly the best octopus dish I’ve ever eaten! The cooking technique achieved a tender texture similiar to stringy cheese that was not overly chewy. It had a subtle smokiness, which contrasted from the zesty lemon puree and raspberry vinaigrette.
Beef Tartare ($48): This dish was so umami 🤤 The beef was rich and the flavours were enhanced by sweet onions, tangy pickles, sharp mustard, earthy mushrooms and creamy soy cream and egg told. This combination was wrapped with perilla leaves, which added a minty fresh flavour.
Roasted Duck Breast ($60): The skin was lightly crispy and the meat was tender. This was paired with feesenjan (sweet and sour Iranian stew) that was prepared as a paste/sauce with blended Koji and added a flavourful creamy consistency.
Lamb Shoulder ($85): I thought I wouldn’t like how oily the meat was but surprisingly it paired nicely with thick and...
