I used to be a very frequent customer of this place when it used to be called Wok On Inn, and had been eating there since it opened in the area. I have only been a couple of times since the restaurant changed to P'Nut, the most recent being June 2022. In my opinion it is now quite average and poor value compared to before. It wouldn't have been the absolute best restaurant as Wok On Inn (there are restaurants in Sydney that definitely do have a reasonable claim to this). But it was quite GOOD, the food was quite tasty for the reasonable pricing and included heaps of veggies and meat in every dish. No one I ever took there when it was Wok on Inn (which was up to several times a week) ever had a bad experience. All my experiences recently have been disappointing. The food is not bad, but very average (2.5 stars) and expensive for what you get. I last ordered a Pad Thai with beef and no bean sprouts; a spicy Mee Goreng with beef and fried egg; prawn dumplings ; "chicken pie" springrolls. This is how I rate my last experience...

The good: the prawn dumplings were decent; the portion sizes were OK (not great).

The bad:

  1. expensive - for example, the Mee Goreng doesn't come with anything besides noodles, onion, chilli and edamame beans, which costs about 13 or 14 dollars for an average amount. You have to add at least $5 to add a meat like beef, which was poor to average in quality (it varied throughout the meal). I remember the dishes used to be loaded with vegetables and meat. Now you have to add everything at adddtional cost, whether it be meat, veggies, egg, tofu etc.

It cost 7 dollars for 2 spring rolls that weren't very good.

And then they add a credit card surcharge to every purchase on top (including EFTPOS).

  1. not very tasty. The dumplings were ok but everything else was pretty bland. Pad Thai was bland. The Mee Goreng was hot (spicy) which was good, but otherwise no real flavour. The spring rolls literally had some filling resembling cheap chicken pie - the cheap chicken pie would have been tastier though.

This is just my opinion and experience, but I would rate this as quite average, but with the disclaimer that the a mvergse in Central Sydney is pretty good compare to other places. I can say, however, that P'Nut does little to distinguish itself from other places in central Sydney to me other than higher than average prices and claimed affiliation with celebrity chefs. For me the litmus test is if I could do better at home, which I...

One star doesn’t even do it justice! We ordered from this place some delivery at 7:10pm to our apartment with the confirmation stating it will be delivered by 8:15. Comes along 8:15 no food. We wait. 8:20. 8:30 we call. They tell us it’s out for delivery and to wait 10 minutes. We wait. 8:45 we call. They can’t tell us what’s going on. We’re left on hold. They tell us the food has been delivered but it hasn’t. We tell them that. We ask for a refund and they tell us that because the food was delivered they don’t have to give us a refund! An absolute joke. We persisted. They told us to go check outside. So not only have they not delivered our food but they’re telling us what to do!! My daughter went and spoke to the reception person. He was not aware of any food. They did not find any food. They still refused to give a refund even though WE HAD NO FOOD. They kept us on hold for 23 minutes in hopes that we would give up, ignoring us as they went around cleaning while we were still on the phone. They then tried to tell us they were trying to get in contact with the driver. About what?? The food that was apparently delivered but not being eaten by us. I would not recommend this place for any sort of dining considering their phone service and overall customer service is APPALLING. As I’m writing this, we’re still on hold.

Edit: 9:20. They hung up on us. Think twice before giving these people any money. $60 during a time where money is sparce and this is the service. DISGUSTING establishment and they...

Usually, we really enjoy this place, but our service and food quality was a total disaster tonight. Ordered for delivery at 6:05 pm. Got a confirmation saying the food would arrive at 7:00 pm - a pretty slow delivery, but okay. At 7:00 pm, the restaurant called to say they couldn’t find anyone to deliver our food and would call us with a revised delivery time. At this stage, we were hungry and annoyed. If we’d known delivery would take so long, we’d have gone with another restaurant.

The order finally arrived at 7:45 pm and it was ice cold. It would seem they made our food at 6:05 pm and let it sit for nearly two hours before delivering it to us.

Extremely disappointed. Frankly, I think we should have been...

This cute little noodle bar facing the street at East Village shopping complex has an authentic street food feel about it so I couldnt help but give it a try. And I was glad I did. Lots of wok fried noodles & rice dishes to choose from, both the pad see eew and Nasi Goreng had a great wok hei flavour. The rice noodles were large squares with a nice bite & tasty soy based sauce. The Nasi Goreng was really tasty, slightly spicy & addictive! You can add more chilli or chilli paste if you prefer also. It gets busy but food comes out fast.

What a joke! This is what $60 worth of food looks like from this shop. To make it worse the dasher 'crisitan' left my food in a public bench on the street. It took me 40 minutes to try to find it. When I called the shop to ask for a refund or have my order re-sent they told me to "call door dash" and gave me the bum steer. When you hire people who don't give a stuff about delivering food this is what happens. Arrogant shop owners who don't care about the user experience. Moronic app who hire idiots who don't care. Perfect recipe!

Shambolic service as two overworked (and somewhat rude) staff attempt to manage walk-in customers, phone orders, pick ups, dine-in service and people complaining about incorrect orders. Overpriced chain food that is nothing special nor memorable. No care taken with the plating-up, either - slop it onto a plate and serve. Tip is to duck into Coles, 100m away, and buy a microwave meal - of similar quality - for half the price. Bottom line: when your order finally arrives it certainty won't kill you, but you can do MUCH better.
