Ordered Chicken Pho. The broth was somewhat bland compared to the flavorsome soups I’m used to.
The young girl taking orders was very dismissive. I dined in and she didn’t bother checking if everything was ok, or if I needed anything. She frowned when I asked for water and scoffed when I requested a take away container.
Huge contrast to how friendly she was with the four Navy crew that exited as I sat down; even chasing them out the door to say thanks when they left.
Regarding the owner's lengthy, politically correct response:
"We truly regret that we missed the opportunity to provide you with a goodbye due to the busyness of the restaurant "
Note that I was the only dine-in customer at the time of ordering. About 10 minutes later, another man ordered and sat down to dine in. During the approximate 30 minutes that I was in the restaurant, there were no UBER delivery drivers that came in to collect orders, nor were there any other in person order collections. As I was getting ready to leave, one lady entered the restaurant to order two rice paper rolls. The young lady suggested that she order three, as it was better value. That's an example of good customer service.
During my time at the restaurant you had three customers, including myself. If that's what you consider busy, I do hope you find additional staff.
"It seems you left quietly, and our team was unable to bid you farewell on this occasion."
All your staff members, including the two cooks stared directly at me as I stood briefly at the door looking into the restaurant.
"Regarding the young staff member, she is currently undergoing training, and we appreciate your understanding as she works on improving her customer service skills"
Note that good customer service skills don't necessarily have to be verbal. I've been to many Vietnamese restaurants where owners &/or staff speak very little English, but that doesn't impede their ability to greet customers warmly with a smile.
