#SOSydney; Wow what a horrible experience. Disgusting customer service, disgusting. Our first time here and nowhere does it say that their food cannot be taken onto the grass. After placing our order we were asked if we wanted takeaway and my reply was “we are just sitting out the back”. I now CLEARLY know that I should have said “we are just sitting on the GRASS out the back”. No spare tables so we were happy to sit on the grass. After our 4 smoothies had been delivered by a lovely young girl, a very angry older girl came out of the cafe yelling at the 4 of us for expecting to eat our meals on the grass (Apparently the council doesn’t allow it.) A simple sign saying; “no eating cafe food on the grass” would have saved us a whole lot of embarrassment in front of 20+ fellow cafe goers. I’m still shaking as I write this review. By the way angry girl (dark hair & tattoos) you don’t call customers “mate” when reading them their rights. Just awful awful awful. And all of this because of you, one rude employee or possibly the owner or the owners daughter. It’s NEVER ok to yell at a customer. Especially not in front of a full cafe. An example of the way management talk to the staff maybe? To make matters worse, after I explained to the angry girl that maybe she should speak to the girl on the register, as I simply said “we are just sitting out the back” and that EMPLOYEE could have just a simply said to us, “at a table or on the grass”? She obviously then went straight in and spoke to the girl on the register, as then the register girl came straight outside and had a go at me in front of the packed cafe as well. Now 2 angry female employees having a go at me in front of all the other customers! So embarrassing. Not a spare seat to be found and we were being abused for simply choosing to eat there, not take it somewhere else to eat. It was so embarrassing and obviously wrong that a table of 4 stood up and offered me their table, a woman and her baby left and two of my group had to come to my rescue and tell the girls how wrong they were to speak to a customer like that. Everyone could hear what was going on. Even the lady in the apartment above the cafe came to her window to see what all the commotion was about. With over 29 years of hospitality and customer service training; it’s never ok to yell at a customer. Never. I’m 49 years old and sorry to say but (DEAD) CALM Cafe has 2 of the worst waitstaff i have ever experienced in Sydney and that’s...

Lies, rudeness and arrogance, the terms of the deal which I confirmed with the NRMA was 20% off the TOTAL BILL , not 20% off $15 (actually $2 was all that was discounted off total bill) which you were adamant was the case even when I showed you the conditions of the offer on the App. You completely ignored this and rudely insisted I was wrong even though it was in black & white in the terms & conditions.. Do not offer or be part of any deals which you will not honour. This has been reported to NRMA and you will be removed..
3 hours ago TonyC Rude and very arrogant female cafe manager this morning. Note to owners: not good for business
Response from the owner an hour ago Hi Tony, if you’re referring to the “discount” issue, sorry again that we couldn’t accommodate your request. You came in with a discount code for 20% off, which as per the terms and conditions, was for up to the value of $15 of the total bill. Which we gave you. Sorry that you had to pay full price for other items that didn’t fall under that discount. I tried to explain multiple times how the discount works, but it seems there’s still a misunderstanding. We are a small business trying to operate in this economy, and that discount is all we choose to...
