A lovely sunny corner cafe that is always busy. It has indoor and outdoor seating and is a popular spot with families and kids. The menu has a good range to please everyone and there are so many delectable cakes to tempt you daily which are made in house. Being a cake fiend I have tried them all. All are absolutely delicious! The choc hazelnut cake is dense, decadent, moist and rich. The carrot cake is super moist, delicious but a little unusual with chunks of pineapple through it so it may be a hit or miss depending on your like for pineapple. The Greek coconut cake is sooooo moist, delicious & sweet! They also offer a healthier take on this with their coconut raspberry cake which has no added sugar and definitely a lot healthier tasting but equally delicious. The classic cheesecake with fresh strawberries always hits the spot as does the fresh house made scones with jam and cream although its smallish in size & the cream is whipped not double or clotted cream. I absolutely love their date and apple cake with caramel coconut topping but the last time I got this it didnt seem as fresh and the topping was soggy instead of a more crispy, sweet caramel. The cake also fell apart easily unlike previous times. This was my only disappointment with cake from here. I have also had breakfast here a few times and everything was delicious. Eggs are scrambled well and I really enjoyed the corn fritters. For lunch I had the vegetable tart which was filled with pumpkin, spinach & caramelised onion. It was a big slice with a very buttery pastry which was too crumbly and I think not as great for $18 as some of their other dishes. But overall still love this little local institution.

All we can say is wow! We've tried to stop here before and it's always busy. Today we could see a few spare seats so came up for lunch after soccer drop off down the road. We were greeted warmly before even entering the door and offered a seat. Staff we prompt, polite and generally amazing. We had the lamb flatbread and lamb moussaka - both absolutely delicious! And so quick! We decided to have dessert as well after noting that all the sweet treats are baked in-house which is something we love and we can assure that the banoffee and the brownie did not disappoint. We can't forget to mention the coffee which was the best we'd had in a long time. So good that we had to grab and extra one to takeaway to the game with us! Thankfully the kids play football in the area quite often so we'll have an excuse to come back.

One of the best cafes in the local area. Choice of indoor or outdoor seating . Interior cosy and welcoming with dark polished wooden floors and a semi home, semi industrial feel about it (hard to explain). Well frequented. The food is good. Have eaten here numerous times for breakfast and lunch. The staff are professional and welcoming. The only thing I’d say is that the single tables are quite small, so if you are getting lots of things, go for a double if you can get one, otherwise it can be squishy. Close to Johnson Park so you can grab takeaway and make your own picnic.

We went in and ordered 2 coffees to sit in. The first lady was really nice and great service.

Then another person asked if we wanted to order something, we already told them we had ordered.

We got one coffee arrive then at least 15-20mins later for the other coffee.

The first coffee was handed to us nicely and repeated of the coffee order to make sure it was ours. The same lady that greeted us.

The second coffee came and they dropped the coffee at the opposite end of the table and didnt ask if it was ours. And walked away. This was a different lady. She seemed very miserable and didnt talk to us or look at us. At that time it wasn't busy.

Then as we got ready to leave the first lady was quick and we payed straightaway Was very disappointed in the price $16 for two coffees this was a large cap and iced dirty chai on oat milk in a small.

This is our usual coffee order wherever we go out. And we have NEVER paid $16

This place was a mixed review The first lady that served us YOU WERE AMAZING !!!!! And absolutely legend running to everyone and serving.

Also PKEASE WIPE DOWN YOUR TABLES our table was filthy Of someone...

Sideways Cafe — Not One I’ll Be Repeating

I honestly have no idea why this place gets such glowing reviews. Maybe some people just don’t know what good food tastes like?

I came here for a friend’s birthday lunch on a Sunday. It was extremely crowded and not particularly comfortable. We ordered three mains at our table: Corn Fritters – These were stodgy, floury, tasteless, and lacking any real texture or seasoning. Not remotely enjoyable. Roast Pumpkin Tart with Goat’s Cheese – Sounds delicious, doesn’t it? Sadly, what arrived was more like something from a convalescent home: sloppy, bland, and almost inedible. The pastry was unpleasant, and the goat’s cheese was barely detectable. The Vegan Salad – The only vegan option on the menu, which in itself is disappointing. It consisted mainly of broccoli and other bits. Tough, overpriced, and entirely forgettable.

Yes, it’s a charming setting from the outside and clearly popular with some. But I won’t be coming back — certainly not...
