Lack of Integrity: Last week, we went out for a group lunch and informed the restaurant upfront that we wanted to split the bill since it was a work social event. They initially agreed, but when it came time to pay, they suddenly refused, which was frustrating. We were also taken aback by the excessive fees. One lady from my group ordered two lunch specials at $10.50 each to cover for another person however, they tried to charge her $2 instead of $1, claiming it was $1 per person even though it was the same transaction. To make matters worse, after we returned home, we realised that transactions over $25 are supposed to be free of fees and her total bill was around $29.40. They even made a fuss over a $0.02 shortfall on her card (she had $29.38 available) before finally covering the $0.02 themselves. The whole experience was absurd, and I’ll never be coming back. Food: I ordered the honey chicken with a fried rice option but what I received was just plain rice mixed with scrambled eggs. As someone who’s Chinese, I know this isn’t what fried rice should be. When I asked where the usual green peas, sausage and corn were, the waiter told me that those ingredients are only in the "special" fried rice. Honestly, I was shocked that a Chinese-owned restaurant would try to pass off plain rice and eggs as fried rice. What a joke. I won’t be returning here again.

We had been there since I started going out with my boyfriend since 2011, and I moved to live up North Sydney because of my business school. And I moved back to Sutherland Shire areas but still no much time to back here again because of my work, till this week we do have time and my boyfriend asked me should we go to the Chinese restaurant that we used to go to. That's why we back there again. And yes always Excellent service and friendly staffs. Great foods, nice meals, and a very delicious. I did love Mongolian lamb and beef ❤️ Very delicious. Excellent place and great location. We will back here again ❤️

We go to this restaurant regularly and it's usually always busy of a Saturday night. Very nice food and friendly staff. A reasonably small restaurant but cosy adding to its charm. Highly recommended. I overheard a group of 4 middle aged patrons commenting on the price and couldn't believe they got change out of $80 for the four of them. Recommend making a reservation for Saturday night. It's also BYO.

Diamond Cafe represents quintessential classic Aussie Chinese food. My family and I have been ordering here for many years and have never been disappointed.

Whilst we have seen many beloved Chinese restaurants in the Shire come and go (i.e. King Palace Gymea, the other Oak Rd Kirrawee Chinese that closed 15ish years ago, the original owned and ran version of Sing Hing Sylvania) we're pleased that Diamond keeps on going.

Pricing is average for Chinese in a post pandemic, inflation world. But I would say it leans towards the value side of things with the old-school bonuses for picking up take-away like free soups, prawn crackers etc.

Must try: Pepper Chicken, Chicken Pineapple Rice,...
