Sutherland Seafood & Chinese — Restaurant in Sydney

My partner used to come here years ago and had recently been saying how good it is, so we had to come today for some lunch. Spent $82 for a mixture of chinese and fried foods. Potato scallops and calamari were decent. Chips were eh. The real problems came with the chinese; Massive overuse of oils. -Honey chicken batter was thick and super oily. -Mongolian lamb meat was tender, but you could see the layer of oil sitting at the top of the sauce. Been here twice now. The plain burger at $6.50 is delicious and a bargain. Even has beetroot on it! Potato scallops are good, but sliced very thin. Crab sticks, battered sav, fish cake were all good. Calamari was a little dry. They also have chinese food available which is made to order. Service is pretty fast and prices are reasonable. There's a few chairs and tables, but with Covid, nobody's allowed to eat in. You can usually get a half hour parking spot right...

The appearance and atmosphere, it is what it is, but I rate this establishment highly for what counts. Great food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. The Hamburger w/ bacon, cheese, beetroot and egg was great. Old School Milk Bar style. Sweet and sour pork w/ fried rice hit the mark as well. The seafood pack was average.
