I have been visiting this park for years, the food is nice but quality can be inconsistent. AVOID coming here on a long weekend or busy day as you will regret wasting your time, which is the reason why I am leaving this review to warn everyone.
From the minute I ordered I can hear the "manager" yelling in the background about my order (a peanut butter toastie!) and during the 40 mins I was waiting patiently she was on and off abusing her staff and swearing about how she's so busy and each time my ordered item was part of her complaint.
My little one was getting antsy after waiting for 40 minutes for her food and I asked where it was and the manger was like she had only got one grill to work on so there was nothing she could do. I asked for a refund and she handed me cash and I asked for a refund to my card (how I paid in the first place).
Their staff couldn't find the transaction and told me to just go home and they would cancel it later and they wouldn't need my card. I was like no I have been (I might have had use fxxking here but I am not sure) waiting here for 40 mins for a peanut butter toastie which I did not receive (not to mention I could hear all too clear about the manager complaining about my order the whole time). Based on how busy they were, they could easily turn around and forgot to refund me. The manager then came around and accused me for abusing her staff. Yes I might have use swear word in my sentence, but I did not swear at the staff unlike the manager. I ended up taking the cash.
The atmosphere was horrible when you have a manager yelling at the staff (including swearing) at the background combined with extended wait time and missed/incomplete orders.
Understand that there is limitation as to the number of people who can work in that tiny box, however, they could have simply stop taking orders so they can catch up. The wait till was excessive, however, would have been easier to stomach if I didn't hear the manager hurling abuse at her staff in the kitchen about taking fxxking order for peanut butter toastie in the background. I would have been happy if I was told they couldn't take my order instead.
Updated after owners comment: I didn't get the so called profuse apology. I simply was told they had only 1 grill to work on and there was nothing they could do except swapping for something premade or refund. Apologies if you think I yelled at your staff, I simply raised my voice as it was noisy and my kid was screaming over me talking and has nothing to do with your staff. I was as polite and as patient as I could be considering I was just standing there hearing you screamed and yelled in the kitchen to your staff about taking a fxcking peanut butter toastie order for the 40 mins I was standing right next to the kiosk.
I am usually quite understanding and accommodating on a busy long weekend if the service is good but the service was lacking in...
Read moreI have been frequenting the Sydney Park Kiosk for over a year, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best places in Sydney for an off-leash dog park. Having the coffee and food shop right there is an absolute blessing-it truly makes all the difference by creating an ambient and engaging atmosphere. The space is expansive, accommodating both people and their dogs comfortably.
Just yesterday, I counted over 50 people at the coffee shop, with a steady flow of customers coming and going all morning. On some days, at one time, I’ve seen up to 30 dogs playing happily in the park. It’s genuinely an amazing place for everyone to enjoy.
Of course, a bit of understanding from visitors would go a long way, especially when it comes to staffing. The number of staff on duty can be hard to predict, as more people tend to come out on sunny days, which sometimes results in the staff being overwhelmed. I’ve witnessed queues of up to 20 people, which naturally affects wait times. On rainy days, however, the queues disappear entirely.
Having visited three times a week for the past year, I can attest that the staff are as accommodating as possible. I’ve seen them handle enormous pressure, particularly on busy weekends, with professionalism and good humor. While it’s not the Hyatt Hotel, Sydney Park Kiosk stands out as one of the best outdoor venues in Sydney.
Well done to the team-please keep up the great work! As the saying goes, you can’t please all the people all the time, so it’s best to disregard the occasional negative review. My consistent support, visiting multiple times a week for over a year, speaks volumes compared to the occasional unhappy customer who might only visit once and leave a poor review. It’s unfortunate when people don’t appreciate the effort and community spirit that goes into making this place so special.
Here’s to many more wonderful visits at Sydney Park Kiosk-thank you for creating such a welcoming and vibrant space for dogs and their...
Read moreWe engaged Jemma from the Kiosk to organize/setup and cater for our daughter's birthday. It was not easy to find a cafe in the middle of a park, with a playground (the brief from the birthday girl). We are just so thankful that the team at the Kiosk delivered this with such a short notice. We were quite terrified after a last minute cancelation from a different cafe at Cahill Park in Wolli Creek and was worried that the Kiosk may also disappoint us.
What a pleasant surprise we received on the day. Nellie was very helpful when we first arrived and was very accommodating when we wanted the table to be setup at a different spot closer to the kiosk. The team (Sam, Lincoln, Nellie and Nabin) were a extremely helpful and cheerful bunch. They made sure that we received the food at the right time during the party; they rearranged the space in their fridge (with limited space) so that we could put our cake and went above and beyond with everything else on the day.
Food were plenty and beautifully prepared. And our guests were all well fed! Such a delightful find. The location is perfect, with the playground just around the corner and lots of big trees around the kiosk, just the perfect spot for our party.
Thank you so much for turning our party into a memorable day. You guys simply don't deserve the other low ratings, especially the team who worked at the Kiosk last Sat; Sam, Lincoln, Nellie and Nabin! We will come...
