had a mixed experience at 29 Copper St, Peters NSW. My husband and I went there for breakfast and ordered two breakfast bruschettas—his with extra chicken and spinach, while mine was the regular version. However, when our food arrived, there was a mix-up: the spinach was on my plate, and the chicken was on his. The lovely person from the kitchen who brought our food was really kind. When we mentioned the mix-up, she immediately went back and brought out some extra spinach, which we really appreciated. The food itself was great—no complaints there.
After breakfast, my husband wanted to stay and have his coffee there, while I preferred mine as takeaway. I placed the order with the same staff member who took our breakfast order, clearly specifying that my cappuccino should be takeaway and his flat white should be served in a mug. The staff member even asked me twice to confirm. However, when the drinks arrived, the cappuccino was served in a mug, and the flat white was in a takeaway cup.
At that moment, my husband was on the phone, but when he noticed the mistake, he pointed it out. The staff member didn’t apologize and just said he would transfer the cappuccino to a takeaway cup and give the flat white in a mug. Of course, transferring coffee changes its taste and experience, so it wasn’t the best solution. But more than that, the staff member’s attitude was not great—he didn’t seem friendly or approachable and didn’t even say sorry. It felt off, especially since he was much nicer to other customers.
Then my husband asked me, “Are you sure you ordered correctly?” and for a moment, I started doubting myself. But then I realized—it wasn’t me. It was the same person who already messed up our food order, so this was clearly his mistake, not mine.
Overall, it was a bad experience. The food was great, and the kitchen staff was lovely, but the service from the person taking orders left a lot...
Read moreThe food at this café was absolutely delicious and the coffee was excellent — no complaints there. However, we were unaware that the café is dog-friendly and allows dogs inside, including at the tables. For context, this was our first time using the First Table app, but the dog-friendly policy wasn’t mentioned anywhere during the booking process. The café only has two tables inside and one was occupied by two women with a dog. I asked the staff whether dogs were allowed inside and was told yes, but that the customers could be asked to keep their dog outside if needed. I said it should be fine as long as they kept their dog on their side of the table. However, as soon as we sat down, one of the women started making comments about us and was extremely rude throughout their time there. Upon leaving, she made a remark that she’d leave the café a bad review because they should “only let normal people in.” While we can see this is a great spot for dog owners, it wasn’t the outing we’d hoped for. It would have been helpful if the dog-friendly policy was made clearer upfront so customers can make an...
