Being a local, you have an idea of the hidden gems in the area and am I glad to add another one to my list. This corner restaurant used to be another Japanese restaurant which we tried once many years ago but didn't return as it made one of my family members sick. For a number of weeks in December 2024 I would walk past on my way to work and the first thing that caught my eye was the absolutely gorgeous interior decor. The lighting absolutely sets the mood. We finally caved in and visited this place last Saturday evening especially after seeing the many 5 star Google reviews, cheap yet extensive menu and the fact that there always seems to be customers there.

We walked in and were instantly greeted by a friendly waitress and were given 2 options of table/chair closer to the kitchen or to the entrance. We were seated quickly and brought the menu and cold tap water immediately. We ordered via the app and the alcoholic drink came straight away. Hungry as ever, we ordered a salmon avocado roll ($10) and a mini salmon Don and mini unagi Don to save time. This took maybe roughly 15 mins. Although the bowl seemed small, for one person the bowl and 3 pieces of the roll was fairly filling. We also ordered their teriyaki steak which was bit small portioned for the price ($26) but to be expected with the economy. We also ordered their small beer batter fries as a snack which came a bit late but was freshly cooked as it was very hot. It didn't seem to be beer battered so I'm unsure what happened there. They also offer sushi platters if you order in advance and more aisle seating down the hallway.

For 3 people for a dinner, $85 was extremely reasonable. I cannot wait to visit this place again. My only suggestion which is a hard thing to fix is that I could see the debris from the road flying through the doorway especially with opened blinds although this would cut costs...

October 2025 This was my second time visiting this restaurant for lunch, and I enjoyed the food much more than I did on my first visit. Perhaps the improvement was due to the seasonal shift — our previous visit was in June (winter), and it was a very hot day.

This time, we ordered the sashimi, seaweed salad, and Karaage chicken (thinking it would pair nicely with the salad — and it absolutely did). We also tried the eel dish, Unajyu, and for something new (I always like to try at least one unfamiliar item), we went with the semi-dried mackerel.

The seaweed salad was outstanding — fresh, flavourful, and so good I could’ve easily eaten the entire thing myself. (There are moments when I really don’t feel like sharing!) It complemented the incredibly tender Karaage chicken beautifully.

The sashimi was a delight — fresh and well-prepared. The eel was decent, as expected, though I personally would’ve liked a bit more sauce or glaze. The semi-dried mackerel was exactly as described — a little tricky to portion with chopsticks due to the tough skin, but once you get past that, it was actually very tasty. I ended up enjoying it with a touch of soy and wasabi (I can feel someone cringe as I write this bit).

Overall, it was a great lunch experience. When we arrived, the restaurant was fairly quiet with just a few small tables occupied. We eventually left when a number of people began gathering at the door, waiting for tables. We were never rushed or pressured to leave by the staff — it just felt like the courteous thing to do. Thank you for a lovely lunch.

June 2025 The food was good, particularly the hot udon noodle combinations—we tried one with waygu beef and another with spicy seafood, and both were delicious. Can’t really rate service when ordering from an iPad. Just a note: parking can be a bit challenging around lunchtime, so plan to arrive a...

So excited whenever I knew there’s a new sushi place in Sydney🤭🍣‼️This place was newly opened in Chatswood and ran by Japanese! 🇯🇵 THE owner and staff are all so nice and welcoming! What’s most important is they serve quality but affordable food! 🍱🫶🏻✨

My fav was the Hokkaido don which is their signature and topped with many premium and fresh sashimi including Uni🥹💝😋🍱 and I was surprised by the portion of the lunch combination set —— it’s just $26.8 and you’re able to choose your own don and noodles, which both of them are in standard size 😱✨ I picked the eel don and cold soba —— the soba was sooo good idk how they managed to make the sauce to be perfect🍜 and they’re just so refreshing! Best choice in summer right! 💁🏼‍♀️ another highlight was the king crab which’s also a must order! 🦀 and highly recommend the salmon lover set if you’re a salmon lover like us , they came with 4 diff versions of salmon sushi and they’re so good! 🍣😋

What I ordered: 🌟Hokkaido don (premium sashimi rice Bowl) $34 🌟Lunch combination Set (Eel Don + Cold Soba) $26.8 🌟Salmon Lover Set $26 🌟Scampi Nigiri $13 Sashimi Ceviche $17.8 Tiger Roll $16 🌟Vinegar King Crab with seaweed $12.8 Hot Green Tea $4.5 Lemon Sour $9

Weekdays are the best time to come and reservations are recommended...

I really enjoyed my dinner at this new Japanese sushi bar. They serve a high quality sushi, sashimi and grilled fish at a reasonably price. The mini bowls with sashimi was my favourite especially the ones with the ikura and uni. The uni was creamy and the ikura had a nice popping texture. The grilled akta mackerel is a must try here. It’s packed with meat and had a nice succulent texture. I would always get their miso soup when I am there, I could taste the dashi from the seafood.

Lots of fish on the menu - raw and cooked options. I haven’t seen the place busy so was wary of ingredient turnover / freshness but my dining companion approved of the sashimi set and said it was fresh. The Wagyu beef udon was ok but there was flavour enhancer either in the soup or beef marinade (not so pleasant in the aftermath!). Service is a tad impersonal, not just because ordering is via the iPad. It’s a bit mid here.
