Went there to try first time with parents Had seafood basket, rump steak with mushroom gravy and lamb chops with pepper sauce.

good portions on a large plate. lamb chops were too dry and chewy had better rump steak elsewhere, also it's overly chewy for a medium cooked steak. seafood basket, coming from chef experience, prawn cutlets were tiny, scallops almost looked fake, calamari rings were tough. Chips were ok along with dipping sauce and lemon wedge.

Overall results for food: Could be better in flavour and cooked properly would be a bonus.

Atmosphere would be better if they upgraded the decor and dining room

Service could be better too. Kitchen staffs did not show any interest whilst working and did not show a warm welcome when we came in. Lack of customer service. The girl at the opposite side at the bar section was even more polite and welcoming

Typical pub food and atmosphere, the service was poor. Opened at 11am, was there at 11:30am to meet with a friend for lunch. We were served by one of the kitchen cooks, they saw us walk in and look at the menu (we were the first customers and only ones there at the time) but never acknowledged us, we waited to be served (all 3 cooks in the kitchen seemed reluctant to speak with us) after a bit one did approach to take our order. He had a thick accent and it was hard to understand him, and vice versa he seemed to struggle understanding us. The steak had a lot of chewy fat, it wasn't a good cut for what it cost and the lamb chops looked and tasted pan fried rather than grilled. The sauces for both meals were poured over the meat instead of been in a separate ramikin, same with the salad dressing. Neither I or my friend enjoyed our meal and definitely couldn't finish...

Curiously, on my 3rd visit to Terry’s, I decided to order the Fisherman’s Basket. That is not usually a wise choice at a steak house, but tonight I have to applaud the kitchen staff because it was magnificent.

The battered fish was perfect. The calamari rings were excellent - delicious and soft (not rubber). The prawns were even better and the scallops melted in my mouth.

I have dined in lots of fancy places where the cost per head is close to ten times what Terry’s charges, but I can honestly say that tonight’s meal was the best value fisherman’s basket I’ve ever had and close to the absolute best I’ve had, regardless of cost.

So don’t be shy just because you are in a steak house, order the fisherman’s basket. You won’t regret it!
