It was a rather unpleasant dinner experience largely spoiled by the subpar customer service on our date night.
The ambience was okay, not on the same level as the other fancy spots next door but not a big deal. It was fairly packed inside, I'm petite but even so I had to squeezed into the booth as all tables were so close together.
Let's get straight to the point, service was the awkward part. Waitstaff appeared young and weren't well trained, some were pretty lost and had no clue what they were doing, some I would describe as lacking in manners.
Can you believe all three dishes we ordered were served to the table beside us and the waiter wasn't even aware until being reminded by us? How odd.
We requested for both my scotch fillet ($80) and my date's striploin ($85) to be medium rare. Mine was perfectly fine, but his striploin was incredibly rare. My date is an expert on steaks, he's been to many fancy steak restaurants and he knows stuff. Even for me it looked nowhere near medium rare. It was literally RED, we regretted not taking photos as evidence. The fries on side were SOGGY.
He spoke to the waitress and asked them to serve a new one properly medium rare, as it's a $85 steak no one would waste money. She offered to reheat it, which was a total joke for steak. 10 minutes later, a lady seemingly "in charge" on this busy Saturday night came and denied the problem of the steak. She again attempted to talk us into the reheating solution after the steak had been on the table for this long. Her attitude was far from decent and even showed an impatient face when negotiating with my date. Instead of working on the customer satisfaction, she succeeded in irritating my date.
It was such a lucrative bill as the dishes and drinks we ordered were expensive and I belive the profit margin was substantial enough for them to serve another steak.
It ended with another awkward moment when an inexperienced waitress asked to clear our plates away. I was still eating the roast pumpkin dish which was half finished. Never mind, she already put her hands on it. It was rude and I felt like she was rushing us. Seriously?
My date had a negotiation with the lady "in charge" when checking the bill and got her name. Fine I'm not going to call her out here, but they deserve this review.
End of story we walked out and went next door to Meat & Wine Co. where we received VIP treatment for a...
Read moreI've never had a worse experience at a restaurant in over 20 years.
Had a pre-booking for 8 people to celebrate a friends 27th birthday and here is an extensive list of things that went poorly during the dinner:
No T-bones were available to order (we were only told this 15 minutes after we had attempted to order) Attempted to re-order to only be told other items on the menu (Tomahawk) was also not available, another 10 minutes wasted. Our drinks order was not put through Entree order was not put through, after waiting 2 hours still no food.. Waitress apologised & told us they would be providing us with a free entree substitute which was later explained as a replacement and we would still need to pay for it. We received something we didnt want, in smaller portion and still forced to pay?? All eight of our main steaks were forgotten and we received them approximately 2hrs 30 minutes after we sat down. Steaks were 5/10 (mine was burnt on the outside and over cooked), best part of the dinner were the sides. Waitress gave half of us butter knives & the other half steak knives? Waitress was not professional AT ALL, could not communicate clearly & was constantly disruptive to our conversations at the table, taking orders incorrectly & speaking nonsense. Small oddity but being served a beer in a Stella glass was very strange, not that it changes the taste but i have never seen any other restaurant or bar do this in my personal experience. Mains order was incorrect and we received wedges instead of chips. Plates for dessert were extremely hot to the touch indicating the restaraunt can clearly not keep up with demands. Removed face masks at times when talking to us.
The manager waived 1 round of drinks and dessert which we had not planned on ordering in any case to begin with. Considering the locality of this establishment as well as the prices they charge ($50 for a sub-par steak) I would expect good service at the bare minimum. No chance i will be coming back here or recommending it to friends/colleagues etc.
I'd be utterly embarrassed if i took someone on a date here & it turned out like it did...

If you prefer a healthy start to your day, there is delicious Bircher, topped with a mix of seasonal berries, poached pears, pomegranate honey and a sprinkling of homemade granola.
Another healthy option is the smashed avo bruschetta which is also perfect if you are on the run. The cornfritters are quality, nice and light and fluffy with plenty of flavour.
The Green Breakfast bowl is another popular breakfast option. This dish was super tasty with a crisp brown rice flavoured with a sweet teriyaki style sauce and served with a mix of BBQ vegetables including broccolini, zucchini, asparagus, add some more green with a generous portion of avocado. There is something satisfying about cutting in to a perfectly poached egg and watching the yolk ooze out over the breakfast bolw, working its magic, adding flavour as it floods with a tidal wave of yum.
