The Grand Hotel — Restaurant in Sydney

I visited this pub with three old mates for a second time, last Thursday. We like this pub for the delicious food, the pokies and the quietness of the venue at lunchtime, so we can have a yarn without shouting. This time my mates ordered the Surf and Turf ($30) consisting of Rump steak, topped with creamy garlic prawns and served with chips and salad. They enjoyed their meals immensely. The gobbled it down so quickly, that I didn't get an 'untouched meal' photo. I ordered the Irish Beef Stew ($26) consisting of authentic Irish Stew, served with creamy mashed potato and well buttered, Turkish Bread. I did get a photo of that. I loved it, gorgeous pieces of beef, melt in the mouth tender. Didn't leave a skerrick. We washed our meal down with 3 bottles of 2021 Sweetwater Shiraz ($44 each) which tasted great. Talk about and icy welcome.. happy to sign in for Covid no probs but a hello would have been nice first not just demanded to sign in.Barmaid was just plain grumpy and couldn’t even be bothered to say how much our drinks came to, just pushed the card machine toward me. Then to top it she couldn’t even be bothered to move the drinks off the drip tray and onto the bar... I’ve been a barmaid numerous times in my life and I’d never dream of being so rude. Shame. We probably would have stayed for another few drink and food but it just soured our experience. Visited 17/12/20 Barmaid dark long hair.. reckon in her 40’s

Very nice all round. The garlic bread was so delicious very nice bread/and garlic/and butter. One of best garlic breads in Sydney I’ve had. Chips very good/as was gravy. It was a good rump steak I will order it again. I’m a new customer(I ordered on Uber eats). Be good if you had like baked potato to order/and some steam veggies option eg carrots/broccoli/beans, or maybe side of roast potatoes/or steamed potatoes. Or maybe you have that already on menu in the sides, and I didn’t check. Fried rice would be good addition to add to menu. I will definitely order again on Uber eats.
