The Hatter's Cafe & Restaurant Katoomba — Restaurant in Sydney

This place just out of standard. We ordered 2 signature benny and hatters breakfast. When the dishes arrived our table one of the signature benny is missing 1 sauce on top compare to another same dish. FYI, the dish is drizzle with hollandaise sauce and Sriracha sauce. When we ask the staff to give us the missing hollandaise sauce on the dish. However, they bring it back to kitchen and send it back without any sauce on signature benny (who want the egg benny without any sauce??). Then we tried to explain to the person who seem like a manager and she seem like couldn't understand what we trying to explain to her. At the end, we just ask them just give us some sauce on ramekin.

Also, we are not the only person have problems with their dishes. Other tables have some dish with hair on their dish, missing out some bacon and getting the wrong after waiting long time.

Overall this place can do better and we do hope they can improve their service & have a proper staff training. However, I won't be back for a while with this bad experience and the prices are slightly higher than other cafe with better quality and quantity.

I also attached the photos of the dish. You can see the difference between them. Also the manager said it is a mixed sauce and can you see is it one sauce or two sauce on the dish yourself. (Or only we see 2 different sauces...

One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Took well over an hour for the food, which was mediocre at best. Surely a bacon and pumpkin risotto would have bacon in it but nope, guess they didn't get that memo.

Ordered two burgers, definitely went to the wrong table first, only for the mistake to then be realised. The burgers were removed, taken to the kitchen and brought to us 30 seconds later. I asked if they were the same burgers only to met with a paltry assurance of "nah, we made sure they didn't touch them and we cleaned them" what does that mean?

There did not seem to be any manager in sight which left the poor serving girl having to apologise to everyone, because I assure you - other people waited an hour or more and then just left after they got their money back

Oh, and why did one of the two chefs leave in the middle of the lunch rush when the orders were already well behind? Because this establishment is a joke and horribly run. Go literally anywhere else, or if there's no other options? Just skip the meal, because the feeling of hunger is way better than dining...

We stopped today for lunch as I was really quite hungry and Hatter’s Cafe looked like a good place to satisfy said hunger. After placing our order our tea and coffee were brought to us fairly quickly but our meals seemed to take forever. As my husband and I were in no hurry we didn’t mind waiting 20 minutes or so without question, but then we got out to 40 minutes with still no food and I was ready to start eating the table. We chased up our meals and somehow our order had been lost in the system. It happens. The lady waiting our table was very apologetic and brought us more tea and coffee on the house. Like I said, we had nowhere to be and I hadn’t yet started to eat the table anyway. From then our meals arrived very quickly and were absolutely delicious. The steak sandwich was the best I’ve had since I can’t remember when, and the parmigiana my husband had was up there with the very best.
