The Picnic Burwood

This is not my first time here, and the experience just got worse. Came here for takeaway ice drink during today’s warm weather on the way bring kid to playground. horrible experience.

waited 5 min in front of the takeaway counter, two ladies behind the counter just ignored me and kept talking to each other. I overheard all sort of conversation including their seat allocation and wrong coffee order etc, until my young kid got irritated so I have to interrupt, which prob I got this rude service.

I asked them where is the menu, first lady just told me to look at the photo on the counter and walked away. The photo was not a menu, and was half covered under 3 coffees that made to deliver to table. So I have to double check again. Then these drink photos do not have price or size, but I got to the point I gave up. Then I said ok I want an ice mocha. The second lady asked me large or small and walked away. There is an ice coffee made on the bench, so I asked the first lady what is that size. She looked at me like I am stupid, and replied: this is table serving.

At this point in time, I am already fed up and said to her that it is really hard to buy stuff from here, is it that hard to answer a simple question. The first lady pointed out to the back shelf with two rolls of cups like 5-10 meter away, saying these are two different size, without showing me again which one is large size.

Be honest, the small cup (she later pointed out) looks larger to me. So I told her these two looks the same. She look at me again with this you are stupid look, and ask me sarcastically: really? They look the same to you? I won’t be surprised if she said “are you blind” at this stage.

I don’t really know why I still end up buying stuff from there, prob bec I already ordered a ice mocha and grabbed some cash out during the almost 10 min period by then (and I was the only one there at takeaway counter)

I still didn’t know the price when I pay because the staff can’t be brother to tell me verbally after I handover 20 dollar cash, and it end up being over 8 bucks (I worked out from counting my changes) for the small size. And I still don’t know what is the large size look like at the end, because the cup for the large size just too far away when the staff unwillingly showed to me.

I believe not properly showing price and size of the serving when ppl ordering is breaching accc rules Also, this kind of service is just not acceptable and made me so upset. The purpose of getting an iced drink is not being upset. If you are too busy to serve takeaway, you should just say it upfront. I rather just get a takeaway from Starbucks across the road.
