Burwood Chinatown, nestled in Sydney's inner west, is a buzzing hub renowned for its incredible authentic Asian street food. It is a vibrant spot that has become a go to for locals and visitors alike, particularly known for its diverse hawker style eateries and lively atmosphere. What to Expect at Burwood Chinatown Foodie Paradise: With over 50 hawker style eateries, you will find a massive range of dishes from across Asia. Think everything from traditional Chinese noodles, dumplings, and skewers to Malaysian, Korean, Thai, and Japanese flavours. You can find everything from charcoal grilled skewers and hand pulled noodles to hotpot and fluffy soufflés. It is a fantastic place to graze and try a bit of everything. Night Market Vibes: As the sun goes down, Burwood Chinatown really comes alive. The neon lights flicker on, and the outdoor areas transform into a bustling night market, offering even more creative global flavours in a festive street atmosphere. Cultural Hub: Beyond just food, it is considered a cultural hub where people come together to celebrate food, heritage, and community. You will often find events and performances, especially around major Asian festivals like Lunar New Year and and Mid Autumn Festival. Unique Experience: It draws inspiration from the vibrant street food scenes of places like Hong Kong, Singapore, and Shanghai, aiming to offer a sensory experience that stands out in Sydney. Popular Bites and Stalls While there are countless options, some popular spots and dishes often mentioned include: Guo Kui Master: Known for their crispy, tandoor baked Chinese flatbreads with various fillings (like beef or lamb). Lovin' Lamb: If you are a fan of smoky, spicy lamb skewers, this spot is highly recommended. Ma La Tang: A popular Chinese street food where you pick your ingredients and have them cooked in a spicy, numbing broth. Desserts: You will find a plethora of dessert options, from unique soufflés that jiggle to bubble tea, fried ice cream, and traditional Chinese sweet treats. Burwood Chinatown offers a dynamic and delicious experience, whether you are looking for a quick bite, a full meal, or just to soak in the lively atmosphere. Have you been to Burwood Chinatown before, or are you planning a visit? What kind of food are you most...

First time to experience it. For late lunch, we tried Pho & net spring rolls upstairs. Can't say it's the best we've had but it's okay. As the night crept in and the stalls started to prep up. We had BBQ chicken, kikiam, quail eggs, frozen yogurt, and gulaman for drinks. There's a wall of locks similar to the ones in Europe and Korea. So if you're into it, make sure you bring a lock with you.

We took photos before a mob of customers arrive. If we have waited until all stalls were open, it will be more chaotic to do so.

We've been to Market City Chinatown many times so to compare it to Burwood Chinatown, would be so unfair. Both have different ambiance and atmosphere. The total let down in Burwood was the awful smell of sewer where the stairs are, leading to the restaurants upstairs. That took the fun out of partaking the street foods. Additionally, the loud music was coming from a large TV that looks like featuring a concert or so. However, the TV was completely covered by a large pergola or outdoor umbrella of one of the stalls. So that pretty much defeat the very purpose of having a large TV there, as dining people cannot see or watch it. Lastly, it was drizzling when we came so people were trying to squeeze in themselves underneath the umbrellas, which made it so uncomfortable for people who secured a table/seat and under the umbrellas.

Overall, I gave it a 3star out of 5, in the hope that the admin will come to their senses and address these...
