Don't be caught out by the stereotype of a shopping centre cafe. Three beans is a great cafe located inside Broadway shopping centre. This cafe has rustic styling, it is a large space and has a stack of magazines and papers to read whilst you wait. A good spot to dine in and take a break. There are also plenty of take away options if you are in a rush maybe a pre made wrap, sandwich or cake and coffee to go.
Three Beans Cafe use their own sustainable blend of coffee. There’s also a malabar chai, matcha latte, and iced drinks too. If you’re keen on a refreshing frappe; try coffee or berry!
Their all day menu boasts good variety, with breakfast, brunch and lunch options; from the summer pancakes and bacon and egg rolls to ham, turkey or chicken sandwiches. The miso chicken and lamb wraps also sounded delicious. With a focus on healthy eating, all menu options list the kilojoules for each, helping you to make an informed healthy decision. We went for two of the healthiest options; the ancient grain salad and nourish bowl.
The ancient grain salad was a tasty option with a large serve of healthy ingredients incliding; buckwheat and quinoa also had fresh herbs, avocado, beetroot labneh, lemon and poached chicken
The nourish bowl, had a good mix of nourishing ingredients such as kale, peas, coriander, red cabbage. Carrot, onion, grains, egg and topped with hot salmon and dressing of coriander and ginger. Very flavoursome for a healthy dish.
The granola and matcha pannacotta, is a good option if you are after a sweet option and it is a paleo too! Served with berries and coulis, this is a lovely dish
It’s the perfect place to stop for rest and whilst you’re shopping. It also suits families, with a kids menu and the...
Read moreOkay, so the place is called Three Beans, indicating that - like almost all cafes these days - it's all about the coffee. But if you're also going to serve tea, then how about sparing a thought for tea drinkers and indicating that you might have some vague idea about how tea should be served? It's bad enough that almost every cafe in Sydney will serve tea in thick wide-rimmed cappuccino cups - inappropriate for tea and quite unpleasant to drink from. Three Beans goes one worst and serves tea in demitasse-style espresso cups. Also unpleasant to drink from, but with the added annoyance of being less than half the size of a small-to-average cup and oddly enough shaped to mess with any notions you might have of measuring out your milk, sugar and tea. I don't suppose it ever occurs to the proprietors of these cafes that there are at least as many tea-drinkers as coffee-drinkers out there, and that many of us would rather go home for a cuppa than patronise a cafe that treats us with disdain, even when the idea of being served tea and a slice of cake while out might be quite appealing. Get with it,...
Read moreTERRIBLE. WARNING . DO NOT EAT HERE I don't typically write reviews but I felt I had to on this one. Consider this, starting the day in a great mood and looking forward to coffee and breakfast. Decided on trying this cafe. Cashier (older woman) looked annoyed at the amount of patrons. I ordered coffee and veggie breakfast. Got my coffee fairly quickly but sat for over 40 min waiting for the food. I saw so many people getting the same order and finishing while I waited. Asked one of the staff and she just stared at the kitchen and walked away without even answering me. Finally, I was fed up and went to get a refund. The same cashier actually had the audacity to lecture me, saying that it was busy and that I should have the decency to wait and understand. After 40 minutes, how much more was I supposed to wait for? Why were others served before me? Why am I paying for this type of terrible service? I got my money back (I only asked for the breakfast, I of course paid for the coffee). It's not worth it. It's overpriced, terrible service. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. GO...
