Yakitori Bar Kitsch Tokyo is an absolute delight and a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Japanese yakitori! From the moment you walk in, the cozy, intimate atmosphere transports you straight to Tokyo. The decor is stylish yet unpretentious, creating the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience.

The star of the show is, of course, the yakitori. Every skewer is grilled to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and bursting with umami. The chicken thigh (momo) and tsukune (chicken meatballs) were my favorites, but honestly, everything on the menu is exceptional. The chefs clearly take pride in their craft, and it shows in every bite.

The drink menu is equally impressive, with a great selection of sake, shochu, and cocktails that pair beautifully with the food. The staff are friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, making excellent recommendations and ensuring everything was just right.

What really sets Yakitori Bar Kitsch Tokyo apart is the attention to detail and the passion for authentic Japanese flavors. It’s not just a meal—it’s an experience. Whether you’re a yakitori enthusiast or new to Japanese cuisine, this place will leave you...

Was already quite upset as I visited on tuesday afternoon only to find the store closed without any notice. Then despite their instagram page clearly stating only walk-ins, they said the empty tables were reserved and gave us a small table right in front of the door. Eventually got us moved but wasn't happy.

The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great, the only reason I'm giving this place two stars. One of the dishes we had ordered didn't go through in the kitchen and the other menu took an hour to get to our table. The staff did come and let us know after waiting 30 minutes that it will take a while and also gave us a small portion of takoyaki to apologise, but would have been nice to be informed of this before we ordered as we were hoping for a quick drink and meal.

The food received (wagyu black tiger prawn) were cold in some spots despite it being served on a hot plate so wasn't particularly worth the wait. The pricing is on the higher end and felt as though they care more about the aesthetics than the quality of the food. Not sure if I...

Kitsch Tokyo in Chatswood is the kind of place that instantly transports you. Tucked away from the buzz, it has a charming, local Japanese vibe — warm, intimate, and full of character. With just nine small tables and a bench, it’s designed for small groups and relaxed catch-ups. The space is beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches, making it feel both cozy and authentic, like a little slice of Tokyo in Sydney’s north.

The food? Absolutely on point. The skewers are a highlight — especially the chicken skin, which is crisp, savoury, and packed with flavour. Each bite is addictive. Another must-order is the squid okonomiyaki — light, fluffy, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sauce. It’s one of those dishes you keep thinking about days later.

Whether you're looking for a laid-back dinner or a spot to catch up with friends over good food, Kitsch Tokyo nails it. The vibe is casual but special, the food is consistently excellent, and the whole experience feels like a well-kept secret...

This may have become my favourite yakitori restaurant! I visited with my partner on a Friday night after work (7pm) and there were a handful of seats available in an otherwise full restaurant. There's a bit of a wait for the yakitori, but you won't be disappointed! We ordered the enoki mushroom wrapped in pork belly, the wagyu, the chicken thigh and shallot, chicken skin, and chicken tenderloin skewers with a side of takoyaki and a sake. The takoyaki was hot with a decent amount of octopus. I would recommend the enoki mushroom wrapped in pork belly! I ended up ordering this one twice. The chicken tenderloin was so juicy and soft. The chicken thigh was flavourful with the shallot. Chicken skin was crispy and juicy without being too heavy. The wagyu had a mustard seed sauce which worked well with the beef, however this one was probably my least favourite as the other skewers were just amazingly juicy. The atmosphere was cosy and reminded me of Japan. Staff were friendly. We will definitely return!
