The Thai Artarmon — Restaurant in Sydney

We've eaten at The Thai in Artarmon a few times now, however on Saturday we attempted to order some takeaway. I walked in store and asked to confirm the red curry was still gluten free.

The woman serving me was incredibly rude, told me it was never gluten free (despite us having had it previously and told otherwise). I queried her on it and she said she doesn't know why someone else would have told me that and only the pad thai can be done GF.

I tried to ask her what the ingredients were in it that contained gluten as normally red curry doesn't have gluten in it and she rattled off coconut milk, curry paste and fish sauce (none of those contain it). She then started taking calls while I was still trying to understand what was in there that had gluten.

She was so rude to me and speaking in a loud voice (when it wasn't busy inside and no need to speak in that tone) I ended up walking out.

I found another local restaurant that were happy to answer my questions as we've got allergies in the family.

I will never come back here again. I would recommend anyone with any allergies or intolerances to give it a miss. They clearly have no idea...

Dined in with my parents on a Sunday lunch a few weeks ago. Only one other table seated. We ordered 3 meals and mistakenly did not ask the waiting time. After 20 minutes asked where the food was (2 noodle dishes and 1 curry) and was told 10 more minutes. No issue at all. After another 20 asked where it was and told another 10. That’s fine, takeaway can sometimes fill up time. Another 10 goes by and it’s now been 50 minutes so we ask for the food asap or a refund. Get told it hasn’t even started to be made yet. 50 minutes for Thai food and no communication on it taking that long is ridiculous. Just tell us from the beginning?? Went to the chicken shop down the road instead and had 3 burgers...

Please don’t come here to waste your money. My boyfriend got me take away from this restaurant tonight and I had it after I finish school. It’s completely burnt. Has a lot of black burns in there. Noodles are nearly black. You can taste the bitterness in there. Vegetables are not green it’s kinda brown. I had to throw it away. Had a few bites cause I’m starving but it’s upsetting my stomach. I don’t know how can a chef or the owner let those kind of food be served to customer. It doesn’t matter its takeaway or dine in. The standard should be set. I can not be bother to ask for a refund. Please don’t fool...
