WASTE OF $200 The seafood here is absolutely horrible!!! Ordered 6 oysters for entree and a seafood platter for 2 for lunch. Worst seafood I’ve ever had in my life. Coles prawns have more flavour. There was no flavour to anything, everything was over cooked and the sauces were gross. Platter doesn’t come with tartare it comes with what they call a seafood sauce and it honestly taste like popcorn. What we did eat of the platter was only because we hadn’t had breakfast and spent so much here. We didn’t even get offered a refund or discount. I was told by locals that Apparently this place use to be amazing but is now taken over by others and it’s the worst, never ever again!!! Yuk! EDIT: I really don’t want to return thank you! Yes I waited until the end and spoke quietly so others didn’t hear because I didn’t want to be rude and I felt uncomfortable saying anything as normally even when things are bad I just say “good thank you” and I did say “I’m really sorry to say but I’m so disappointed” and then continued to explain and was just told “ok” she then returned as I was downing my sofa to leave to offer us the ice cream, I had already been disrespected by then “ok” so wasn’t in the mood to stay and have ice cream. I respect your multicultural attitude but just stated what I was told by the locals. The compensation that was offered was a cup of ice cream each and yes I ate most of my platter apart from chips and salad, my partner did not eat his whole half and I only ate it because it cost us $200 and it was my birthday so my partner had paid a lot to make me happy as I begged for a seafood platter so didn’t want him to feel bad and also it’s good to try everything not just one thing and then complain. THERE WAS NO TARTARE like I stated it came with a buttery sauce on the side and the lobster had garlic butter which didn’t even taste like garlic. We also before eating purchased a stubby holder and we were going to buy a shirt on the way out but ended up not doing so as I would hate to promote the experience we had, I had looked at recent reviews and now wish I had taken photos because ours was nothing like others had pictured. I cried on the way home because it was that bad and I feel I had wasted my partners hard earned money and it ruined my birthday. Highly recommend east coaster restaurant there seafood pizza was to die for, absolutely delicious and the most tender squid I’ve ever eaten, oysters had so much flavour and so fresh :) Also Bark mill tavern had the biggest scallops I’ve seen in a long time, not a bad feed there either, order 6 oysters for entree chef accidentally cooked 12, waitress apologised and we were only charged for the 6 but who can complain about that! :) **The fact you keep changing your response is disgusting behaviour and character, to say you checked footage months later is ridiculous and go check the footage of us screwing up our faces and whispering how horrible it was, your several changed responses and the way you have handled this by getting aggressive and saying I can email you but that would resolve no compensation or apology is so disrespectful and just...

We made a family get away just to try the Lobster Shack You cant go to a Lobster shack and not eat Lobster, I ordered Lobster Mornay and garlic lobster both with chips and salad then I also ordered 8 scallops and Flathead fillets on their own for the two of us, cost $130 . Most of the others paid much less but I wanted the full seafood experience My advice dine in.
Honest it was the best food I have ever eaten, better than any seafood restaurant I have been to and I eat a lot of seafood. The food was fresh tasty not over battered and very juicy, not dried out like in some seafood restaurants. Fries another matter bit burnt but who care the sea food spot on.
Flathead fillets I just want to take that 2.5 hour trip to buy them again. My favourite was the lobster mornay, my husband the scallops Looking at the others I would like to try the platter and I was told it was amazing but so was the lobster burger my other family member said
It comes with heaps of lovely salad and I think that is what they get right as battered food can be very heavy in your tummy but the salad breaks it down a bit, so you enjoy it more, More seafood restaurants should take note
The venue is very very small and there are lines of people for take away, luckily as you don't need to book we did, there were 8 of us and so glad we booked. Our booking was for 5.30 and we got in just before the 6 / 6.30 dinner rush. They are licenced so enjoy a wine or a beer also. Just do it
If you are also looking for something to do in Bicheno try Nature World its 8kms past the Lobster Shack cant recommend it enough its amazing fun day for us olds, my grown children and grand daughter fantastic...
