Arrived for breakfast on a cold winters morning. Decent coffee and atmosphere, bacon and egg roll with bbq sauce was delicious but probably that's where the positives end. Maybe it was a bad day but it seemed like they forgot to season their food. Chicken sandwich just tasted sad and very very bland. Really, it isn't that easy to mess up a sandwich, but they did. Allegedly "the best scallop pie in Tasmania" was also a letdown; cream sauce was again tasteless and almost no scallops to be seen. A complete rip off for $9.50. Maybe its "the best" because they are the only place selling it. Furthermore I'd expect better quality bread overall from a bakery. I'm honestly quite appalled because the bread at this place is on the lower scale of quality even compared to what I have back at home in my country, disappointing to say the least.. I couldn't even believe I found bread this bad in Australia. Even woolies/coles bakes much better bread. Service wasn't great either, cashier was barely smiling and there was an older lady behind the counter who was constantly staring us down throughout our meal, for God knows why. It's a complete mystery to me how this place got to 4.4 stars on Google maps. Come on guys, you can do better.

Dining Experience @ Blue Edge Bakery. . We stopped by Blue Edge Bakery on our road trip, to stock up on some of their wide range of pastries and confectioneries. . We loved the Meat Pie Scallop Mornay (AUD $10.50), quite different from the usual curried rendition around these parts. This features tender juicy morsels of deshelled scallops, diced potatoes, white onions, and carrots, in a creamy mornay cheese gravy. Served within a crumbly pie pastry crust that is nicely butter glazed, has a sweet savoury milky cheesy salty flavour. . The Fairy Biscuit (AUD $2.40) was a fun and playful morsel. Layered with raspberry jam, this has a firm crunch to texture, with bright biscuity candied earthy floral sweet flavour. . We enjoyed their rendition of the Sausage Roll (AUD $4.50). The exterior puff pastry was crisp flaky with buttery sweet savoury flavour, while the interior filling of minced beef and carrots was tender with meaty vegetal salty sweet savoury flavour. Dressed with tomato ketchup for added vegetal sour sweet flavour. Liked it enough that we ordered another one!

Hands down my favourite scallop pie of all of Tasmania. We stopped by Blue Edge for breakfast and to our delight, there was the white wine cream scallop and curried variant. Obviously, opted for the cream as we've had a few curried ones already. It was beyond my expectations and my god, did my mouth not stopped watering. We also had the turkey, brie and cranberry panini which was toasted and was delicious. It was light and easy to eat. Two iced coffees to start our day and the serving was very generous as you can see the size of the glass. Let me tell you that the size did not jeopardize the taste as we agreed that it was one of the better coffees in Tas. The apple crumble admittedly could've been better. But the price did not hurt our wallets too much. I enjoyed this bakery very much and would encourage you to try their Tasmanian scallop pies!

Grabbed a bite to eat here for breakfast before continuing our trip last month. Got myself a pretty decent meat pie. Unfortunately I felt pretty unwelcome the moment I entered - as if the staff were avoiding me as much as they could. I know it's not the greatest assessment to say that I don't usually feel that way, but it is how I felt in that moment.

We stood at the counter for a while, waiting for our turn to be served. Look, I know it was early morning - it was already quite busy and I get it, everyone's pretty miserable in the mornings especially when you have to spend the early morning at work.

There were plenty of staff - one of them was working right behind the counter and kept looking back at us but seemingly trying to avoid eye contact. A quick acknowledgement I guess would have helped? Having worked behind a before, I would have at least let the customer know that I know they're there and that I'll be there shortly.

When we finally did get serviced the lady seemed fed up with our presence from the get go. Took our orders with a tone that made us feel like a nuisance. Another gave us our orders and was almost like she was ready to run away if I were to move too swiftly.

My partner and I kept to ourselves and kept quiet this entire time but could not rid ourselves of how uncomfortable we were until we were away.

I don't want or like to have to say that yes, I do look foreign, but I did grow up in this country. I really do hope that that wasn't the reason for such an unwelcome atmosphere. I really hope it was the morning blues - but I really did see and feel the difference between their interaction with my partner and myself compared to their other customers.

All in all, the pie I got was enjoyable at least - but the atmosphere and the service left a sour taste...
