Called to see if there was a wait time, lady said no you can walk in when you arrive. My husband and I arrived after 15 minutes and saw people waiting outside the restaurant, we had to write our names down and waited about 30 minutes to get a table as it was packed full of people plus people waiting before we even arrived. Was contemplating to go somewhere else as I was pregnant at the time and hungry. But decided to wait as I did enjoy the food in the past. But this time it was an absolute mess.
Once there was a table available We ordered the beef brisket tteokbokki, kimchi cheese jeon and small boneless fried chicken. Usually there would be cutlery given to us first thing along with a bottle of water. The waitress only gave us cups with no water until we had to ask for one. In the mean time the brisket tteokbokki arrived. Instead of the usual bowls they give us. The lady handed us the tiniest flat plate that could not hold more than a piece of fried chicken. We didn’t bother to ask for an actual bowl as the poor waitress was running around everywhere. Later the chicken came that looked unappealing and tasted like plastic (we ordered cheese flavour). After about 25 minutes later and being borderline full the kimchi cheese jeon finally came out. What looked like the cook bought it out with a smile and not even apologising for the wait. We weren’t given any scissors to cut as every other time. The jeon was as if I was eating plain green onions with a sprinkle of cheese ontop. Every other time it was fantastic but I don’t know what went wrong this time. By the end I was really dissatisfied with the service and food.
This was back in February early this year. I was contemplating whether to write a...
Read moreI wish I could give it more stars, but this one staff with gold hair clip in her hair was ridiculously rude. One of the worst attitudes I have encountered.
There was a group waiting before us (and told us they had wrote their names on the waitlist paper), so we went inside and asked her if there were any tables, and she literally swooshed her hands while looking away and told us to go sit wherever. We told the group before us and told them to sit at a free table as they came before us.
Then there was another group that walked in after us and she escorted them to a table without putting us on a table first, so clearly no queue system in place.
We finally sat at a table, with no one’s assistance, after ordering food, my partner went inside and asked for a bottle of soju and she rudely and abruptly said “you know we have multiple brands right?! Which one do you want?!” (Cant comprehend how rudely she said this). And my partnered ordered and then she asked “which table?!?!” And my partner directly pointed at our table, clearly visible from where she was, so being condescending “which one?!, oh THE MIDDLE table” … ??!!?!?! Treating us like children.
We can understand they are busy and under the pump, but there was no reason to treat us like a burden when we are giving them business.
To be fair, the food was above average and the other lady waitress was absolutely lovely. Disappointing one person let down the experience, but undeniably one of most unpleasant...
Read moreWorst korean food I’ve ever had. We ordered the tri-colour chicken set, which was half cabbage with tiny chicken pieces. The batter was extremely doughy and and hard and it genuinely hurt to eat. There was also several pieces of just dough with no chicken? On top of that, the sauce was so watery that it barely coated the chicken and you can see a pool of water at the bottom of the bowl (probably from the cabbage??) which was so unappetising. $49 for that was just ridiculous.. We waited 30+ minutes for the BBQ spicy chicken (which we had to keep asking for) and when it came, the chicken was borderline raw. The sauce was so watery and flavourless, so the chicken was extra bland. We couldn’t even complain because staff were so busy/unavailable and couldn’t attend to our needs. We ordered just plan rice that we never received because of how busy the staff were. Finally, on top of the disaster this restaurant was, there was an extremely intoxicated couple next to us which the staff did NOTHING about. The girl was almost in the floor, nearly falling from the seat she was lying down on. Every staff we saw interact with them did absolutely nothing to address it and even went as far to serve more drinks. This is an excuse of an establishment and an insult to korean food. Please do not waste...
