Aroma Deli Cafe — Restaurant in Victoria

I am so disappointed!! My husband and I have eaten here almost every weekend for a least a year now, it was our favourite place until this morning, we called and booked a table as we know how busy they can be on a Sunday morning. I ordered a full breakfast, it came out the bacon was almost cold and still stacked together like it comes in the packaging, with absolutely no evidence that it had been cooked, the tomatoes were supposed to be cooked but looked raw and were just warm, the mushrooms were cooked but cold, the toast was warm bread and the eggs didn’t come out because they “were still in the poacher” we were told! My husband’s meal was supposed to be eggs Benedict but the eggs were still being cooked and no hollandaise sauce the eggs came out in a bowl and no sauce! So took both meals back and left!! Granted we probably won’t be back which is unfortunate because we loved this cafe and its staff but I don’t know what...

Got the bruschetta, was seriously disappointing. 2 small flecks of basil in a sea of not very ripe hydroponic tomatoes, a lot of the woody stalk bit was still on the tomatoes, on 2 bits of barely toasted bread which was soggy to the point of inedible. Wife got the special mushroom bruschetta. Supposedly "gourmet mushroom mix" was just button mushrooms, not cooked properly, seems the chef didn't really know how to cook mushrooms, as a result wife had stomach ache for the afternoon, as happens with under cooked mushrooms. Wife got a disappointing, slapped together iced coffee, I had a juice orange watermelon lemon and ginger, thought it would have a squeeze of lemon juice, but no, they must have put a whole lemon in. Had breakfast yesterday morning at aroma deli while staying in town. Ordered two dishes of eggs on toast with a side of smoked salmon and the other with added pork sausages.

Service was great and food arrived quick. Nice fluffy eggs, but needed a little more umami, not enough salt and seasoning. Presentation could be improved as you first eat with your eyes before you even smell the food and have a bite.

Coffee was great, silky smooth micro-foamed milk and nice texture. Service was attentive and the place had a nice vibe overall. The cafe is also a deli so we purchased a few little items for the road such as macadamia nuts and some chocolate, how can you not.
