I visited this pub for lunch along with some friends. I was unlucky enough to order the dud of the menu - the Roasted Duck Breast. While all of my friends received what seemed like nice pub food with some salad I got a plate with several slices of duck meat on top of a line of mushroom risotto across the plate. It did not look very pleasant.
I struggled through eating it. At the end I really needed a little bit of salad just to freshen me up. I asked for some as I was not feeling very well after the meal. The manager came out to respond. He said that I would have to pay for the salad. He said that I should have complained before I finished eating the meal. His money was more important than the comfort and pleasure of his customers. The cost of the salad would have been less than 50c and resulted in a happy customer. Instead I am writing this complaint to everyone. I will never go to this pub again and neither will the 10 friends who were with me who all had lunch. Your pub was on the list for us to regularly visit but we will never go to your pub again. That's over $250 per visit you will miss out on as we go to a different pub from now on.

Read moreWent to lunch mid-week at the newly renovated Belmont Hotel. Had heard it was good. Group of 6. The inside has been opened up with a see through bar area between rooms. Nice look. Dining room was grey and boring with cafeteria style tables and chairs. A bit depressing. Menu seemed ok for a pub. Two had the tandoori chicken salad. Nice greens but the 3 chicken skewers were overcooked, dry and stringy. The dob of yoghurt on top did nothing to save the meal. Another had the salmon, which was also overcooked, dry and stringy. Hard to achieve with salmon but there you go. Best meal was lambs fry and bacon, although it looked so unappetising as to resemble a cow pat except the colour was much darker but just the right profile. And all of this following an exceptionally long wait after ordering with (at the time) only 2 other tables ahead of us. Sorry guys, not going back if the meals don't improve...
Read moreGirls weekend away meets hidden and unassuming gem!! Friendly and welcoming staff on arrival, which continued pleasently throughout our evening. We received honest and helpful recommendation of the menu, with support and knowledge on gluten free options. Staff were very knowledgeable on coeliacs and nothing was too difficult. Great conversation on other matters too. When starters arrived, I literally died and went to heaven. Gluten free popcorn chicken blew my mind. Crispy coating, succulent chicken and seasoned to perfection. Mains were delicious tasty and fresh, my steak cooked to perfection. Medium, juicy and tender. My friends had a jackfruit and pineapple pizza and a Mediterranean pizza gf, kimchi pasta and all raved about taste, temp and service. What a delicious and delightful evening to remember. Thanks for having us... I...
