Caffeine n Machine — Restaurant in Victoria

What a disappointment. If you visit, visit for the machines, not the caffeine (or anything else). This is another Rutherglen establishment that will prioritise regulars over visitors. I stood at the counter and the guy behind the counter ignored me and took the order of a local standing behind me, like I wasn't even there. I was eventually served (by someone else) and ordered a breakfast of eggs on toast and a coffee. I chose to sit out the back amongst the machines, where it was quieter. When my eggs arrived they were inexplicably covered in pepper. Personally, I don't like black pepper, but even if I did, this was a LOT of pepper. Just as weirdly, the eggs were served without salt. I wandered out and found a salt satchel. Another weird choice was that the eggs and toast were served on a cold plate, rendering the meal itself stone cold before I could even start. We were passing through Rutherglen and feeling a bit puckish my wife caught site of an old motorbike on the footpath. We parked and walked back to find Caffiene N Machine. Walked in greeted by friendly staff. Just a simple Scrambled Eggs & Bacon on toast with English Breakfast Tea and a toasted Banana Bread an d Capuccino. Looking around there were pictures of bikes. A few bikes throughout the shop. But wait there's more. My wife sees a sign that said bike museum. Not only that, how's this Free Entry. You don't have to be a motorbike enthusiast to admire this collection of not only some very nice age varying bikes but memorabilia. Good food, good culpa but Great Museum. Really...

The coffee is SUPERB!! I'm not interested in Motorcycles but the Shop and display area at the back is very impressive and beautifully thought out. I asked the Waitress if there were any gluten free cake options and she snapped at me saying "No...we're a Bakery!". I know she might get tired of being asked that question but I can't help bring a Coeliac, requiring gluten free food. I shouldn't be reprimanded for asking a simple question.
