Daawat — Restaurant in Victoria

It was a last minute thing as the wifey wanted Dahl & rice. Time was 2.30 pm when we reached Bendigo and we chanced going here. Bit of a dodgy looking joint and the fact is the place could use a bit of dolling up to give a better ambiance. The one thing I couldn't fault though was the food. Well done guys. I love being surprised by good food and yours was great. So was the service but remember to smile. I actually didn't mind it being attached to a pub as you can order a beer with your food and made the experience a bit quirky. If you consistently serve food like that we will return next time we are in Bendigo but you really need to do something about the decor and pls make sure you can't see the kitchen next time as it didn't look the cleanest due to having that half wall at the front counter making you look at the top half of...

The restaurant is located in Bendigo cbd and offers wide range of Indian dishes including butter chicken, chicken vindaloo and many more.

The restaurant is well furnished and can cater approx 30 people. The restaurant has another part which serves pizza and pasta. Both are located at the same place.

In terms of food, I had paneer palak, dal makhani, paneer butter masala and naans. Personally, all the gravies were very mild and had no taste of masalas. However I like chicken vindaloo which was spicy and I can smell the aroma of spices.

Regarding service, there was just one staff available to serve. Therefore service was very slow. Waiting time for food was also longer than usual. We had had to wait a long time to get our food.

For above reasons I am giving them three stars. I hope they improve their quality...

Rude behaviour by staff. Dirty kitchen and zero customer service. This is the worst restaurant. Rude service and non tasty food. The waitress is very rude. I went there with my friend and ordered two All you can eat unlimited thali. She made me feel so bad for asking for refill and then yelled at us for sharing each others food in front of all the customers. We ordered two Thalia and we were two people. They accused us of ordering one thali and making 5 people eat off it. We didn’t even finish our meal and left coz we felt very embarrassed and humiliated. I have never been to a restaurant where customers are treated like that. They also threatened us to take down our reviews off Google. If you have any self respect...
