A beautiful dining experience – unfortunately marred by inconsiderate patrons
Last night, we had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful Indian restaurant and were incredibly impressed by the delicious food, warm and attentive service, and the clean, elegant setting. Every dish was bursting with flavour, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. It truly is a fine dining experience and a credit to the team who run it.
Unfortunately, our evening was significantly affected by a family seated near us with three young children, including twin boys, who were allowed to run wild throughout the restaurant. They were climbing on furniture, running around our table, and even turning off the lights in the dining area. Sadly, their parents made no effort to manage their behaviour, which disrupted the peaceful and refined atmosphere the restaurant so clearly aims to offer.
To be clear, this is in no way a reflection on the restaurant or its staff, who did everything right. However, we do hope that in future, families visiting such a lovely venue are more mindful of others and take responsibility for their children’s behaviour. As parents of four young children ourselves, we were looking forward to a rare night out as a couple, but this disruption really impacted our evening.
We will absolutely return for the food and service – both of which were exceptional – but we hope future visits will be more in line with the serene experience this restaurant...
Read moreI’m not really a big fan of Indian food or eaten it much but once I went here it changed my life in so many ways, this place was actually great, I have never eaten Indian food like this. Normally I would have had curries that aren’t homemade at all but these curries are probably the most delicious ones I’ve ever had in my life. This is no understatement, this is probably the most authentic, delicious and downright tasty restaurant I’ve been in. So to any newcomers who want to come in and try, here’s what I would recommend:
-(as entree) Non Vege Platter (meat platter): they had three types of meat, Fish, Tandoori chicken and honey chicken. If you are bringing 4 people this is perfect!
-Cheesy Naan: the cheese pull is so 🤌 and goes great with the sauces!
-Lamb Vindaloo: DARE DEVILS: HAVE IT SPICY! it’s still good if you want to it mild but I went up for the challenge to have it spicy. (My personal favourite!)
-Punjabi butter chicken: this was great, have it with the Jarra rice or your Naan. It’s pretty good to have it medium for a good kick if you are a fan of spice
-Malay Kofta: this was great to have with rice and Naan, you don’t really have to put spices in. (Personal opinion)
-Jarra Rice: full of cumin flavour and great side dish. It’s better than having plain rice anyway.
Anyways 9/10, definitely go back and great to have...

I recently visited Signature Dhaba in Bendigo and was thoroughly impressed! Every dish we ordered was bursting with authentic Indian flavour, beautifully presented, and served with genuine warmth.
We started with the Chicken Tikka – tender, smoky, and perfectly spiced. The Chicken Momos were a delightful surprise – juicy and flavorful with a dipping sauce that added just the right kick.
For mains, the Kadhai Paneer stood out with its rich, spicy gravy and generous chunks of paneer. The Dal Makhni was creamy, slow-cooked to perfection, and comfort in every bite. The highlight for me was the Phindi Sabzi – a unique and delicious medley of vegetables in a well-balanced masala that I’d definitely order again.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. You can really tell they care about the food and the customers.
If you’re in Bendigo and craving authentic Indian cuisine, Signature Dhaba is a must-visit. Whether you’re a spice lover or just want something hearty and delicious, this...
