Florence and Me Café Geelong — Restaurant in Victoria

This is my favourite place to eat at the moment. There are myriad choices of ready made sandwiches, rolls, salads and cakes plus menu choices. Dietary limitations are catered for. The chicken sandwich filling is to die for, flavoured with dill and( more than likely) house made mayo. The Korean egg sandwich very very tasty and the generous slice of orange and poppy seed cake the best ever. The salads are extremely well flavoured. I am not sure why this place had such great reviews unless it’s changed hands recently. Food is definitely average, service is poor and the main guy seems stressed and unfriendly. I ordered a croissant to eat in, no condiments were supplied, not even jam. I ordered plain scrambled eggs and I was charged the same as the much fancier chilli eggs on the menu. When we were leaving I apologised for the crumbs on the floor and rather being nice and saying ‘don’t worry about it’ the guy seemed genuinely pissed off. Definitely average and even below...

Had a quick bight here on last day before Christmas closing, and just before closing time. Only a few things left in the cabinet. We had a delicious toasted chicken panini and a burger bagel. The coffee was excellent. Despite our late arrival, and nearing closing time, we were encouraged to take our time, not rush. I haven’t seen that for a while!
