The food was nice and I especially love the salmon my friend ordered (def worth 5 star). However, there were too many flies. I understand it's hot and the door needs to be opened but throughout the whole time we were just trying to stop the flies from landing on our food, to the point that the waitress thought we were trying to grab her (as we frantically swished our arms around). After I expressed this I just got a "sorry we can't do anything about it, we cannot spray when ppl are eating" and "what would you do?"

Ugh…I hope anyone of you coming here won't be bother by the flies but since there's nothing that they can do we will just choose other places next time so we wouldn't need to rush finishing everything before the flies land...

My sister and I had breakfast here. The coffee and meals took a significant amount of time. The food was below par and cold, and the coffee weak. I spoke to the staff and let them know we were unhappy however the staff member didn’t know how to handle the situation and we paid in full. I called later to discuss the situation and I spoke with another staff member who was polite kind and understanding and agreed to a partial refund. I went in to get the refund at an agreed time and was verbally abused by the owner. Having grown up in this area and the steadfast reputation Fryers has had over the years, it’s fallen from far from grace. I won’t be eating here again, and will be telling anyone I know about...

First time coming since new ownership. Coffee tasted very burnt, definitely one of the worst coffees I have ever had, was unable to even finish it. Was seated right next to the kitchen which we observed all types of big No no’s. Such as staff members talking in their own language even to customs of the same race standing right next to our table. Observed kitchen staff using their hands with no gloves touching every piece of food before putting onto the plate which was very off putting. We will definitely never come back here again which is very disappointing considering Friars Cafe was one of the best Cafes...

The big breakfast here felt more like a regular breakfast with the option of adding on. In terms of taste, presentation and quality it was magnificent. The crepes were definitely the pick from what we ordered made to perfection. Being early in the morning it was obvious no one was taking care of the bathrooms, they were filthy. Double toilet paper rolls empty, bin overflowing and toilets.... well, unclean!! After good service and lovely meals and this one point rectified, this place is a great visit.

Such a nice place for a relaxing breakfast/ brunch around Shepparton. Situated in the Fryer's street CBD surrounding a bunch of other restaurants, this place stands straight for its unique vintage tinge in it- an old church structure converted into a contemporary asset. You can dine inside, which has got an upstairs dining capacity or you can simply sit on the out overlooking the Fryer's st if you're into people watching. Food is reasonable and wish coffee would have been better.
