The only authentic Chinese flavour food in Bendigo, from a fastidious Asian food reviewer. The others are more customised for local $ western taste.
We had the roast duck, crispy pork and typical dim sum. The roast duck is of Melbourne standard and is a must-try. The crispy pork skin is also very crispy and tender. Both are just right in taste and salt level. Love it! The owner maintained that theirs is the traditional flavour and not herbal type. We must agree that simplicity is the best.
We had the chicken feet dim sum , har gap, glutinous rice and bean curd prawn. Wowed us totally and we’re so delicious. Please ask for the chili sauce - it’s really spicy! Love the dim sum. The xiao long bao isn’t as juicy as those made on the spot in Melbourne though the taste is still good.
The rice and noodle with 3 types of meat combo is the best for traditional Asian food hunter. We love the texture of both the rice and noodle- so simple yet they’ve got it right. Btw, the duck is roasted fresh in the shop and you can taste the freshness.
There’s limited seating indoor but there’s an alfresco seating outdoor with artificial turf.
Best of all, there’s a Taiwanese bubble tea (Nor Tea) next to it to complete the whole Asian dining experience.
The Chinese couple bosses are extremely friendly and welcoming. We went back for 2 meals during our short stay in Bendigo.
Thank you for such delicious meals and we wish you prosperity and continued great...
Read moreMan, I wanted to like this place so much. I was looking forward to the food after seeing a 4.9 rating on Google Maps. Although I can confirm that the flavours were good, sad to say the crispy pork was no longer crispy if you order at night, the duck is good and always a solid option, but the chicken, man, it let me down. Parts of it were undercooked and brought down the whole BBQ trio combination—translucent meat and blood running from the bones into the rice—sadly, disappointing. Can confirm that the staff is friendly and gives you a part-of-the-community vibe. I wish they offered me sauces to go with my meal though. I’ll still be back next time. Hopefully the chicken will be cooked...
Read moreOrdered some takeaway including BBQ fired rice, mixed roast and a couple of pork dumplings. All up $45. Split in half it will be about $22 per meal over 2 days. I wasn't a fan of the dumplings and the sauce that went with them but it is more on me and my taste buds. The rice was great and the meat was very tasty. It just lacked a sauce to soften the rice and marinate the meat. The service was 1st class the place was pristine, will I go back? Absolutely! Maybe I should make sure I am clearer about what I need to satisfy my pallet. I'm sure the awesome people who own this place will be more than...
