Miss Amelie Gourmet — Restaurant in Victoria

My partner & I got the pies to eat in, but when we ordered coffee, we were told the coffee machine was down, there would be an hour wait, so we said no. 5 minutes later, a group of people walked in & got their coffees & pies on plates, whereas we got our pies in takeaway bags after we specifically said we wanted to dine in. They didn't even come & ask if we wanted coffees now that the coffee machine was fixed magically in 5 minutes instead of 1 hour. Pies were excellent but we weren't impressed with how we were treated. We were the only ones walked jn initially, probably they couldn't be bothered making coffees for 2 people & didn't want to wash the dishes? But when they got a group of people came in 5 minutes later, it was totally...

I was told there was a bigger range if pies to choose from if I went upstairs,so I did that,when I got to order I asked the server if that was all they had? He said yes,so I got pies I did not want as there was no choice's left.I was waiting for my drinks for over 15minutes,when I asked how long they would be I was told I will go downstairs and find out.The staff member said that is where the orders are done,I followed him down stairs,as I passed the pie cabinet it was full of of a variety of pies again but I was told that that was all they had upstairs.When I asked the staff member what was the long wait he said they were short staffed,ok fair enough but dont be trying to run 2 areas if that is the reason for such...

I went through some of the reviews because I was bewildered to see this place was only rated 4.2 stars.

I will be back to Miss Amelie Gourmet again and again. I came to Beechworth with a craving for a chicken and leek pie and when I saw this place on the corner that was voted one of the best pies in 2022, I just had to try and I was not disappointed. The chicken and leek pie was the best I've tried, hot and creamy and tasty - I could have one every day (lucky I don't live in Beechworth).

Coffee was also tasty, I was served promptly and with a smile and the shop front is tidy and inviting.

Good work guys, I hope you become a local institution because you have some quality goodies without comparison...
