Amazing Service, but the Sushi... Meh We went to Okami Japanese Restaurant for Father’s Day dinner, and overall, it was a really nice night. The place had a chill atmosphere, not too loud, and felt like a good spot for a family dinner. It was our first time there, and we were excited to try a bit of everything. First off, huge shoutout to Axcel. Super friendly, on top of everything, and made us feel really welcome. You could tell he genuinely cared about giving good service, and it made a big difference. He even gave my dad a little extra attention for Father’s Day and a gift with hilarious letter which we all appreciated. The food? Mostly solid. We ordered a bunch of hot dishes the chicken teriyaki was juicy and flavorful, and the tempura came out crispy and light. Love the shumai and chicken kaarage as well.Definitely some good comfort food there, and everything came out pretty quick, even though it was a busy night. Now, for the not-so-great part: the sushi. We were honestly kind of let down. The slices weren’t even some were thick, some were falling apart, and it just didn’t look (or taste) like it was made with care. A couple of pieces were soggy too, which kind of killed the vibe. Sushi should feel fresh and clean, but this felt a little off. If I’m being honest, we wouldn’t order it again. That said, the rest of the meal and the great service made up for it. Axcel really went all out, and that alone would bring us back. I just read a review came from alex and I’m genuinely surprised to read this review, as our experience last night was the complete opposite,especially in terms of service. From the moment we arrived, axel, one of the staff members, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He was not only professional and accommodating but also incredibly attentive to our needs throughout the evening. Honestly, axel might be the best staff member we've ever encountered at any restaurant.nothing was too much trouble for him, and his friendly, efficient manner really stood out. Far from being disorganised, the service we received was smooth and well-coordinated. Our reservation was confirmed without issue, and we were seated promptly. We actually appreciated the use of a QR code for ordering.it was easy and modern, and staff were available to assist with any questions. Axel even checked in with us several times to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. As for the menu, we did notice a few items were unavailable, but the staff were clear and helpful in offering alternatives. All of our dishes arrived in a timely manner, including desserts, and everything was delicious. The team worked hard to maintain a pleasant and clean dining environment, even during a busy evening. We were also celebrating a special occasion, and thanks to the warm hospitality,especially from Axel,it turned into a memorable night for all the right reasons.
