Visited races today, with family and I must say the outdoor service was amazing. The girls were so lovely, helpful, and super friendly I ordered a large soy coffee and unfortunately all I could taste was soy milk and water that was lukewarm. I’m not one to complain but when I’m paying $5.50 for the coffee and extra for soy I kind of expect a decent coffee. I kindly went in to talk about the quality of my coffee and from the girl making the coffees behind the counter responded with ‘maybe your not used to the kind of soy milk we use’..Which I thought was absurd... I was a little shocked and taken back by her passive aggressive response and just wanted to get out of there as fast as I could. Now I have been drinking soy milk with coffee for years and actually enjoy the taste but unfortunately not this time. My coffe was remade but unfortunately still wasn’t great but to be honest I didn’t want to go back in there and make another fuss and be spoken down to again.. I have previously worked in hospitality and understand it can be frustrating when customers being things back, but in the end they are paying customers and in the competitive cafe business in Ballarat little things like this can turn people away.
Other than that our food was great but won’t be...
Read moreIve visited this cafe 3 times now and I’m done, we walked in to be told…take a seat we will be out to take your order shortly, staff member was very abrupt, bit pushy, wanted to just get it over and done with and move on….I get that your venue is busy at times, but your job description is not ( go up to the table- seem as though its an effort, quickly grab the order and scoot away )…drinks came of then we were asked by a different person ( with dreads ) what we would like? This person is pleasant, patient and inviting…I’ve been served by him before…wonderful staff member… As for the food- PUMPKIN SOUP - now thats not pumpkin soup sorry, more like curry soup, I had to leave the majority of it because it became hotter in taste every time I had a spoonful…yuk…I ate the bread, but there was no butter..and no option for it either…my daughter had the falafel chicken, sorry thats not a falafel…we lived in Coburg and we know what a falafel is….and that was far from it. My sister in law had the quiche, I was told that it was ok, nothing to rave about…. I think I’m done with this place now, the last meals we had were yuk as well, not great in food or service from...
Read moreMaybe wait until the customer has left before talking about them while standing right next to them. ‘Don’t order a bowl of chips if you can’t hack them’ what a joke. We ordered them for our 17 month old to snack on as last time the amount of chips with the burger wasn’t enough so this time we ordered a bowl and clearly a 17 month old can’t finish a bowl of chips so we ordered them. We sat outside for 20 minutes with no one in sight so we moved inside, had to ask for menus and drinks to be taken & didn’t even ask for proof of vaccination. I’m not sure of the boys name but he was wearing a green checkered shirt and wasn’t wearing his mask. All staff were rude except for one guy who was lovely and asked if we wanted to take the chips home after realising I heard the boy...
