Had the most amazing dinner service ever at Honcho. We are staying at nearby area to go to Mt. Buller and discovered this gem of a resto.
There were the 3 of us, and our 15 months old baby boy decided to be very cranky. We tried our best to calm him down but it took awhile. The staffs saw this and gave us french fries to help calm him down and it works!!! Was not expexting such a wonderful gesture and we are so grateful 🥰🙏🏻
The food, suffice to say as well, was really WONDERFUL!!! (Yes with capitals). We had scallops and pork tacos for starters and they were absolutely amazing. The hot sauce the provide on the table was also really good. Good flavour with decent amount of kick to it. The disco chicken, as the name implies, had our tastebuds dancing 💃🏻 🕺. Overall, such a pleasent dining experience for the 3 of us.
Shout out to Bonnie for serving us so well with a smile. Thanks guys for the wonderful dinner and we will come back when we are in the area...
Read moreFantastic place. Simple decor but perfectly cosy on a cold night. Gentle lighting and friendly wait staff make for a pleasant evening of fine dining. Great margaritas. Fresh ingredients and authentic Mexican cuisine. The surcharge at the end left a bit of a sour taste in our mouths. When I enquired about a “cheeky surcharge” when we had ordered the $65pp chefs selection and it cost $150 for 2 people, I was not so politely told I could stay at home if I didn’t want to pay extra on the weekend. One small hint- If you’re charging extra on the weekend, have a weekend menu that reflects what you’re charging patrons. Or have the wait staff tell you at the start of the meal. Would avoid any surprises at the end. I was told the “weekend surcharge” was on the menu and on the website but if neither of us saw it then it can’t be said that it was obvious. Other than that “stay at home” little pearl of wisdom it was a...
Read moreWhat an outstanding find this restaurant is in Mansfield. It bills as Mexican fusion but in truth the food is closer to authentic Mexican than many that claim to be Mexican.
We had the tasting menu. At $65 it is excellent value, and definitely reflects the dishes on their menu that I would have selected anyway. Everything was delicious and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The amount of food was plenty to fill a hungry diner, but not so much that you have to push to get through to the end. We also tried 4 cocktails - all delicious. My favourite was the peach paloma.
Outdoor and indoor seating are both available, the service is really friendly but not over the top, and the music selection perfect for the cuisine and the environment. I would recommend this place for couples and groups of friends and I will...
