Having worked in hospitality I know how challenging it is to please everyone so I rarely leave a bad review, but our dinner at the inlet hotel was an awful experience and the lack of customer service astounding. We visited on a Saturday night in peak tourist season and not surprisingly the place was very busy. We found a table outside in the converted shipping containers and then headed inside to order. We knew the food would take a while but an hour after ordering we were still waiting. During that time, other tables who arrived after us had sat down, ordered and eaten so I went inside to check on our food. I was told the kitchen were preparing our meals and to expect them very shortly so I went back outside to wait. Another 15 minutes passed so I went back inside to check again. This time I spoke to the person in charge and when I questioned the long wait time I was told "look at the place". Nevermind that others had come after and eaten before us, it was simply shrugged off as being busy. At this point I was made to feel like I was being unreasonable for even asking. There was no goodwill gesture of a free drink, apology or anything that resembled it. A few minutes after this our food arrived. I ate the barramundi which was ok and my partner the chicken schnitzel, which came with undercooked vegetables and a schnitzel that was so hard in parts it couldn't be cut. Overall this was a...

Tacky decor and lighting (fairy lights all dangly stuck on the ceiling). Disappointing and almost chaotic atmosphere. The prices were honestly outrageous, $10 for chips + $2.5 for aioli!(all sauce add ons were $2.5) or you could get a steak for about $50 bucks which just to remind you, this is a pub not some gourmet fine-dining place. There basically wasn’t any service as you had to line up at a desk to order your food as if you were in a lunchroom/cafeteria type of place. It takes about half an hour for food to come. However the food was really pleasantly surprising, leaving you feeling happy and forgetting your original feelings of resentment you have when you first walk in, hence the overwhelming amount of positive reviews. If you’re looking for something affordable or a place where the prices match the quality of the food don’t come here. But if you have money to spare, again the food is really lovely so I guess I could recommend it if other options are fully booked. If still available I recommend vegetarian lasagna or the...

Nice pub, open plan Bistro style. Get your own drinks at bar, order meals and brought to table. Food is good - flat head nice generous servings - prawn spring rolls tasty but ours served a little charred. Staff are mostly friendly - esp the hosting chick. One bar staff member could use a little repartee training. Chips, veges and salads all extra costs eg: $7.50 for each and the serve of chips will help you lose weight. Haloumi entree tasty and well made (photo here looks like we killed it) - haloumi tasty withoutvthe sauce. Chips were nice though but not served with the promised tommy sauce which when asked for came in squeegie pack. Very busy place so I am sure the owners are happy. Generally prices are pushing the envelope $30-40, eg: 250 g steak $48, so add the sides and drinks and you can do the maths. Been here several times, Invy only has two pubs, but some good restaurants in Invy too. Open plan format is not inviting but functional and does cater for the...

Wasn't the ambiance I was expecting. Pub come school lunch room. Big screen TV and harsh lighting. Popular and busy though. We (2) had the $150 seafood tower (which we paid an extra $25 public holiday loading) =$175. No problem. (Special occasion) About 15 - 20 minutes later (no time at all) our meal was plonked by a waitress that struggled to carry it. Then she walked away. We sat there for a minute looking at the massive tower of delicious seafood perplexed. For $175 we expected a spiel. "Good evening, tonight for your dining pleasure we have....." then the spiel. We knew what we were getting on the menu but to have someone treat us a little bit special for $175 would have great. Just telling us where the fish was caught, or what was local from the area. We had enough people with dinner envy as it was but that would have been the icing on the cake!! Great evening and the meal was stunning! 100% awesome job Chef! 👏
