City of Greater Geelong — Local services in Geelong

Hi I recently deposited $4000 extra into City of Greater Geelong Councils account when paying our 2nd instalment of rates. It was an honest mistake I put an extra 4 on the B-Pay deposit. After contacting the Council via phone and email multiple times they advised me they would re deposit the extra $4000 back to my bank account but they are going to charge me $30 for an administration fee. Which to me is absolutely disgraceful I made an honest mistake when using B-Pay. After speaking with a staff member from the revenue department requesting a refund on the $30 fee she said it can’t be refunded. Then I spoke with a team leader who also advised m the fee couldn’t be refunded. She said I had to go through the ombudsman. Tried to get help today for the first rates notice I have received in my life, that I got with 1 week to pay. Tried to go online to organise payment and set up to pay fortnightly so I don't get that again but it wouldn't work I was directed to call. The lady I spoke to was so rude and so inconsiderate In the way she spoke to me. Like I was stupid for not understanding how they work when I have never done this before. She didn't explain anything just told me I was wrong and what I can't do. She also told me I received an email with the rates which I did not and that I don't receive paper ones which I did and currently have in my hand. When I think of one of the worst most useless councils in Australia Geelong council is up there at No1 Gotta be some of the worst most miserable people I have ever had dealings with From the parks and gardens to the gyms to the call centre to the front office and everywhere in between The saddest people on minimum wage

Me and every other tax paying law abiding citizen hates you guys !

We pay our taxes and our Levy's and everything else to use sporting grounds ovals and whatnot only to be turned away

Trust this losers I will hit golf balls wherever I want whenever I want

You carnt even see the ol washed out no golfing signs let alone a long long list of other long forget areas you are so called * guarding for nothing *
