After work on a late Sunday afternoon I decided to drive to this cafe as it is open till 5pm (later than other cafes in the area).
Cafe itself wasn’t busy, but as I stayed there for about an hour waiting till the time I had to pick my son up. A few tables came & go. The place itself is pleasant, clean & staff were friendly & welcoming.
Loved the glass cabinets & displays of cakes, breads & some take away cooked meals. They all looked fresh & delicious 😍
As I knew I was going out for dinner I chose to try their spicy pumpkin soup which was served with a slice of sourdough bread & some frozen butter ($9.50). The soup serving was generous with nice thickness - it hit nicely to enjoy during the winter cold along with some rain outside.
I would have liked to have tried other offerings but maybe next time.
PS : in this current time with so many stores, cafes & restaurants charging surcharges on cashless payments, this cafe did not charge me which was also a positive thing (my belief is why should customers be made to pay especially when payment is directly debited from a savings account)

Read moreNice little suburban bakery/cafe. They've got space to park your dogs out the front, a nice play area for kids out the back. Very modern atmosphere. Paintings by local artists on sale on the walls. All your standard bakery fare from pastries to artisan breads on offer. We had a steak and mushroom pie, an almond croissant with lemon curd and raspberry, chocolate coated donut, and a couple of toasted brekkie sandwiches. The sandwiches were apparently very good. The croissant was ok, but was a little bready and really could have used a bit more filling. The pie was a better quality than your average pies with large chunks of meat inside. The chocolate topping on the donut was actual chocolate and not chocolate-flavoured glaze. Loved that about it but the donut itself was a little hard (perhaps because it was such a...
Read moreI was pleased to find a café open after 3 pm, but I should have opted for Starbucks or McCafé. At least they don’t refuse to heat food that’s meant to be served hot—a basic expectation.
Arriving at 3:45 pm (with the café closing at 5 pm), there were no menus visible at the counter, leaving us guessing about drink options. My mum ordered a quiche from the cabinet, only to be told it couldn’t be heated because the oven had already been turned off—more than an hour before closing. When we asked about heating it up in the microwave, staff claimed it would make the quiche hard so didn’t offer us this option.
The coffee and service were mediocre, and the lack of air conditioning on a hot day made dining in uncomfortable.
Overall, a disappointing experience. I won’t be returning...
