Whenever we head North of the river, a visit to the IKEA canteen is an absolute must, especially for their exceptional meatball servings. As someone who appreciates both taste and quality, I am consistently impressed by the deliciousness of their food. The meatballs, available in kids' sizes of either 8 or 12, are genuinely the best around. Not only is the size perfect, especially for children, but the taste is unparalleled. They strike a delightful balance in flavor and texture, making every bite an enjoyable experience.
Accompanying these scrumptious meatballs are choices of chips or mash and peas, served with a sweet jam that perfectly complements the savory meat. This combination elevates the meal to a whole new level of satisfaction. The portions are generous, ensuring that both kids and adults leave the table feeling content.
The canteen's ambiance is casual and family-friendly, making it an excellent spot for a quick and hearty meal. The queue times can vary, sometimes a swift 10 minutes or a longer 20-minute wait during peak hours, but the wait is always worth it for the quality of food served.
Accessibility and convenience are other positives of this IKEA canteen. The location is easy to reach, with ample parking available, making the 'in and out' experience as 'easy and peasy' as it gets. This hassle-free approach is particularly appreciated when we're just stopping by for a quick bite.
In conclusion, the IKEA canteen is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for delicious, high-quality food at a reasonable price. Whether you're shopping at IKEA or just in the area, their meatballs are a must-try. It's a dining experience that promises satisfaction and leaves you planning...
Read moreWhat a disgusting interaction with a foreign blonde lady who was at the trolley area. I always have lovely men working in that area that allow me to go with trolly to my car. I have a 18 month old and a 4 year old and need a trolley, depending on what I'm buying otherwise I will take my pram.
I had both kids, all my shopping and my nappy bag and she ran after me, stood in front of my trolly and told me under no circumstances can I take the trolly to my car. I asked if she was serious and she said yes!!! I told her Im always allowed to go out and my cars was literally 3 car up from the cross walk and I'll take the trolly back as I always do. She watched as I struggled to get my 18 month old, all my bags, and my 4 year old. She was absolutely awful! I can't express the utter frustration and disgusting feelings from this experience.
This was after being made wait for a check being done on my item being scanned at the self check out, which took ages, with an older lady with so much attitude who was so rude!. Where I also had to wait ages to pay cash, while my 2 little ones are being hectic, cause everything was taking so long. Very...
Read moreUnfortunately, our experience was marred by a staff member whose behavior fell short of IKEA's usual service standards.
When we ordered at the restaurant, I simply asked for a single meatball after seeing a photo of it. The staff member's response was unexpectedly rude and abrupt. Instead of politely explaining the options, she tersely asked, "How many?" It was clear she expected me to know the quantity choices, which were not clearly displayed, making it hard to understand the options.
What followed was even more unsettling. The elderly staff member raised her voice and repeatedly shouted either "eight" or "twelve," as if scolding us for not knowing the menu choices immediately. This was not only unprofessional but also felt disrespectful. Additionally, we got the impression that she might have been prejudiced.
My wife was particularly affected by this exchange, so I chose not to escalate the situation at the time to prevent further distress.
I sincerely hope that this incident is not reflective of IKEA's usual customer...
