This cafe had a great outdoor vibe. The service was fantastic, and I would come back for the service alone. Unfortunately, the food was definitely not worth it. The prices need to be lowered, or the quality needs to go up. We ate here twice, dine in and takeaway. Coffee was okay, $7 for a large black coffee is excessive for the quality that you get. The sourdough $12 was under cooked, eatable but not worth it. Almond Croissant was smaller than the saucer my coffee sat on, cost an outrageous $9.50 had little to no almond filling inside. Mushroom toasty the sourdough taste a lot better than the purchased bread. It could of had vegan cheese in it to make it less dry. We had a ham toastie takeaway that was much nicer and had 2 x $7 Ice milk coffees takeaway. Again, for what you pay, I don't think it's worth it.

This is second time I visited and both times the food and coffees were top notch. I ordered the Labneh eggs with chorizo this time and a small flat white. While it is expensive ($35 total), most cafes are similar these days with really bad food and small serves. Personally, I think my order came in quite generous amount. They definitely did not cheap out on the amount of chilli crunch which was the best I've had! Eggs were done on point and the chorizo lightly fried and still juicy. Coffee was delicious and I also bought an almond croissant to take home. It is pricey ($9), huge (double the normal croissant size), topped with almond flakes and nicely filled inside. Please continue the great work!

Really cute cafe, food is yummy. I would say that it’s very cold inside, I had to wear my puffer jacket. I feel like cafes should be cosy and warm so you can take your jacket off, especially in winter. They could easily close the front door and when people want to come in they can open it themselves. I heard people sitting behind me saying they were cold too. It would make the ambiance inside more pleasant and relaxing :) Also can they add more matcha to the iced matcha. Mine was practically white 😫 My toastie was amazing though, best I’ve ever had!

Not a lunch place. Ran out of food selections. Poor quality chicken burger. Had thick batter coating on a skin thick piece of chicken. Cannot make to order. Staff at counter confused and significant delay taking orders.

Thanks for your reply to my comments. Let me provide more specific details..

We wanted to order the Classic 14 toastie, which is clearly very popular and had run out. Stating such a popular item is "not available" is very poor business practice. How difficult is it to make one or more if customers want it? Monitoring items that are in high demand and making sure these are available (or can be made) is better customer relations than prioritising lower volume items. Prioritize serving fresh, high-quality food , which occasionally means certain items may not be available later in the day is not an excuse for inability to provide basic and highly popular items which are the staple of your menu. .With a son who is a master chef, we can attest to how best to run catering businesses and large restaurants..

We also requested the chicken burger, but did not want the chilli dressing and asked if this could be replaced with a tomato base dressing. Response was this was "not possible". The chilli could be removed but not replaced. Really?!?. We were not requesting a "custom burger", simply a minor change to the existing recipe. Inability to meet such minor customer requirements is indicative of poor management. When the burger arrived, the "chicken" was covered in your "gluten-free cornflake crumb to ensure a unique and delicious texture". However, there was a sliver of chicken contained within, which was literally only skin thick. Basically a piece of thick cornflake crumb, and hard to claim it as a "chicken" burger. So, we would question your commitment to serving fresh, high quality food.

We have previously dined at your café in the morning and found the food and service acceptable. It appears that you have now extended into a lunch café and not sufficiently catered for the demand or the ability to adapt to customer requests. We found the service and food unacceptable and suggest you need to review your business model to remain successful. There are plenty of other cafes in the city that provide similar quality food and offer the ability to meet the customer requests for minor variations to the menu.

As much as good quality and fresh food are certainly important, good customer service is more critical to remaining in business. Word of mouth and customer experience are what keep businesses like yours alive.

I hope you take this critical review as it is offered - as constructive...

Too loud, have to almost yell at other at your table to be heard, and when asking if I could get a couple of the toasted sandwiches made as we didn't like some of the ingredients was told no that they were all done in the morning and probably didn't have anything left, said are you kidding that you can't make a simple ham and cheese toasted sandwich minus the mustard? Apparently that is me being rude to the wait staff. Was inform by I'm assuming the owner that if I continued to be rude they could just not serve me!! I replied that I had not once raised my voice or said anything abusive but was entitled as the customer to be disappointed and upset my daughter couldn't eat because they didn't do items fresh made. However my 2 daughters and I went without as I refuse to spend good money at a place that can be that quick to offer to refuse to serve me. My mother then had a word with him saying how disgusted she was that half her table was not able to get anything and we were all the asked to get out!! 25 years I was either manager or owner of a Cafe and never ONCE did I treat any customers the way we were treated today. Shame on you

Be very careful with your false accusations I never ONCE swore at your staff, in fact didnt even raise my voice, and NO ONE at our table (3 of them were young teens) touched your staff member when they brought out the sandwiches, what was said was it was for the other end of the table thanks.....and you didn't offer to call the police I asked you to, I was more than happy to have them there when I had done nothing wrong, my mothers actions I am not responsible for but I know for a fact she did NOT touch you....my niece was recording the incidient. The below is a cheap shot to cover the fact you cannot handle the slightest criticism, as seen in 2 other reviews similar to mine where you have blamed the...

I found this place mostly full of 20-30's. The queues were often long and slow..needs the option of 2 tills and the young lady although very nice needs to talk up so we can hear what she's saying.. The music was too loud so everyone was shouting over each other. We had a table under a speaker (can't see the need for loud music when people want to get together and socialise eg talk!!) Ended up moving outside despite the flies. At 11am there wasn't that much choice with empty shelves although my hubby was happy to grab the last loaf of sour dough bread. Being a bake house, not a bakery as such I still thought there might have been more breads. There were heaps of sandwiches if you like Turkish bread, some slices of banana bread?? And half a doz cakes if that, to choose from. I had a huge square thing.. not cake.. not bread.. not croissant..maybe like a brioche but I've never had one of those. It was topped with yummy raspberries and filled with a very bland lemon curd but so tough to cut into and didn't really taste of anything. Others had a little tart with jam or glaze on top which they said was nice. The coffee was soooo strong I didn't even order one so had to wait until I got home hours later. Would I go again..no. would I recommend it..no, but if someone asked me about it I would tell them to make up their own minds. Sorry no photos. Why did we go when it's out of the way... because we heard it was there and new. I wish them well. **From memory I don't think it's wheelchair accessible but might be wrong I had to struggle up 2...
