First of all completely understanding my partner and I came out for breakfast on Fathers Day. We totally understood it’s 40 minute wait for food, didn’t bother us. Drink came within 15 minutes of us ordering so I was quite impressed seeing as there was a 40 minute wait for food. The Iced Coffee came out with no cream and they said they ran out. Totally fine i understand these things happen! Ended up waiting 55 minutes for food, again I understand because it was so busy even though they originally said 40 and I’m sure it’s hard to judge a wait time. The food was terrible. I at least thought having to wait so long that food would be good. We both ordered a big breakfast the only difference was the way the eggs were cooked. His came first and without any bacon and rock hard toast? Mine eventually came with bacon (and uncooked toast) and I asked the waitstaff if she could please get his bacon. She was lovely - absolutely no complaints about her. She took his back, then came back out and said the kitchen staff said that meal didn’t have bacon order with his breakfast. I order two big breakfasts , one with poached eggs and one with fried. The only difference. The menu even says it’s come with bacon, hashbrowns, mushrooms etc? She then took it back again and said it’ll be 5 minutes they are just cooking it. Got to ten minutes, no returned food. 15 minutes hit and went to ask where his food was? Still the bacon wasn’t ready, although other customers were receiving their fresh food with bacon (I am seeing these dishes been brought from the kitchen, past me to their tables?). The lovely waitress gives me back his food (still with no bacon) and explains the kitchen says it’ll be five minutes. The whole time, his meal has just sat on the side getting cold. We ended up just leaving as soon as the rest of his meal finally arrived. His whole meal was cold, the bacon he got actually looked raw and not cooked. My breakfast wasn’t great either and when it came out was like warm. Unfortunately we will never ever be returning. Not even for coffee. Paid $75.00 for nothing. All I can compliment was the...
Read moreNot a good experience at all for a Saturday about 1pm. I am a regular of Henry's but, yesterday took the cake.
At 1pm on a Saturday, staff took payment for fries and coffee, and then came out and said the fryer was off and couldn't provide this, we were disappointed, and offered us a chicken wrap or toasties as a suggestion. This we didn't feel like, but opted for cheese and ham toasties.
Sat for a little bit, then we were bought by staff, a chicken wrap, and when the girl was giving it to us, we told her it wasn't for us, then we got looked at like, really?????
When the toasties were given to us, they were disgusting. They were not toasted, and has black speckles from clearly the toastie machine. Cheese was not melted and the toasties were cold. On top of that, that the toastie machine wasn't clean, my toastie had been cut with a dirty knife as there was avocado on my toastie where it had been cut. I ended up giving the toastie to my dog.
The cafe was busy, but, I will find another coffee...
Read moreParking can be a challenge due to being located in a busy, popular part of the CBD, but as a positive it's a great location if you are moving on to the Grand Cinemas across the road afterwards or before. Love the atmosphere, but traffic noise is at the higher end of the scale. Staff are on the ball and service is as good as can be expected. A very pleasant setting with the choice of sitting fully indoors or semi al-fresco style. They serve a decent fresh machine coffee to satisfy most palates among the usual fare of other drink options. Food menu is ok but I wouldn't go here for a full scale restaurant experience when better options are available within a stone's throw. Wheelchair access well catered for although seating can be a little tight during busy times, which it usually is throughout the day from brekkie to post- dinner. A long term established, well known and popular place for catchup over coffee...
