Note: Booking system is quite strange, had to pay $15pp additionally on top. Next time will walk in instead as it is not deducted from the bill.
First time coming to Mandurah and wanted to try steak for the first time so thought it would be a special moment to have it here since I heard a lot of good reviews of the cows coming from Margaret river.
Location (5/5) The spot was easy to find with a huge sign and ample space to find parking.
Food (5/5) I had the Margaret river black Angus sirloin 300gr in rare and partner had the A5 wagyu marble sirloin 300gr in med rare.
My steak was super tender and it’s juicy meatiness was slightly sweet such a beautiful piece of meat sourced locally can taste the freshness and not gamey at all.
My partner had the A5 wagyu, I had a bite and wow the creamy buttery marble texture just melts in mouth being med rare is perfect when it’s got a higher fat content.
We both had the additional garlic butter on top and a mix of sauces — Jus, creamy pesto chimichurri, creamy mushroom. All the sauces were so flavoursome and super tasty!
Thank you also for the complimentary choc mudcake! We really enjoyed it too
Price (3/5) $$
Service (5/5) Service was excellent. Great attention to detail and care. Felt very welcome for our first time here and the manager really looked after us on the night.
Atmosphere (5/5) Love the eclectic vintage and cozy steakhouse feel here. The booth seating is a nice touch except the seats are slightly uncomfortable.
Overall a nice place and room to improve would be in its booking system. Quite unfair to secure a spot and not having it taken out of...
Read moreThis was the second time coming to the steakhouse the first time it was just the two of us we had to wait 50 mins for our meal as they were "busy" with three tables. This time we had a party of 9 with one person who has food allergies.
The chef was good at handling the food allergies as the server didn't know how to handle it. The food was good, I'd get the ribs hands down so good!
Food 4/5 ⭐️ food came out relatively fast only thing I could say is maybe the kids food could come out faster. Food size was good, ribs are our favourite and both the pork and beef ribs are amazing with lots of meat and flavour.
Service 3/5 only had one server for the 3 hour we were there which ment we were left without our drinks for 20ish mins. And our tables didn't get cleared before our dessert was served until the second server arrived for his shift. Not the end all but maybe have more then one server on when its fathers day weekend. The chef was great he came out to our table when we had a member who has food allergies to talk over the options. We really appreciated that. 👏 they changed the dish for her. Thank you 😊
Down falls -They got rid of the beer on tap
-Not very good at cocktails
-refused to make a coffee at 3pm because they were too busy but had our table of 9 and 2 other tables one with a party of 3 and the other with a party of 6 I'd really hate to see how they handle things when they are full house. But really no coffee in the afternoon is very disappointing.
All in all we will be back and hopefully they are able handle having afew more tables without the wait time going over an hour. But the food is...
Read moreTook my family of 2 teen girls and wife for lunch. We ordered the Cave Man Platter for 4, $195, I ordered 3 beers, they only had bottled or can beer and it was warm. $10.90 each for Peroni stubbie. Kids had the milkshakes, that were not cold with toppers, except they had no toppers apparently they ran out, my wife had an ice tea, this was ok! $261.50 total. Not an unreasonable price all in but the meat platter was a real let down tbh. Brisket was supper fatty and bland, ribs were dry and lacking flavour, chicken was just deep fried with a very sweet bbq sauce and dry as inside. There was also a spicy chicken, that was tasty but dr, annd again just deep fried chicken really. The bacon was a real let down, we were expecting nice thick cuts of bacon but it was like a quarter of a thin limp rasher on a peg x4 so one very thin rasher in total at best, with a strange coating, didn’t taste like maple. There was a bit of salt n pepper squid (more likely calamari) but this was low grade indeed, like from a packet. Onion rings were soooo fatty they were inedible. There were 3 bits (quarters) of bbq corn for a 4 person platter, head scratcher that one. The Mac n cheese, well… Mac n cheese, even the kids did not think much of it, they said it was packet stuff idk 🤷🏽♂️. Chips were ok, not great, just ok, last item was a tiny bowl of coleslaw, again tasted pre-made and very bland. I would have to suggest that not much if any of this meal was made in-house, it all seemed like a packet production cook on site only. I could be wrong but that is exactly what our experience was. Shame but at least...
