My experience s here vary a lot. Food is generalky good with large servings. The place itself needs to be looked at. I wish the staff would clean the tables more often and would set the tables as they seat you as ive sat down twice now to tables with dirty/used silverware & napkins. People have complained about not getting their food before ppl who arriced after them which I dont mind as some meals take longer to cook than others, what im not fond of is people who arrived WELL after me, having their order taken first. I was also put off a month ago when my meal was accidentally given to a ladu at another table who ordered the same thing, I knew it was mine tho as id asked for burnt bacon. I put my hand up to call the waitress over but she didnt see me. I watched as the lady looked at the food, picked bits up, placed it down, licked her fingers before touching something else and saying to her friend it wasnt her order. They called the waitress over who apologised, realised it was mine and then just put it in front of me and waljed away. I had to call her over to tell her I wanted a fresh order please as it wouldve been cold after sitting at another table for 10 minutes while the lady licked her fingers before touching everything on the plate, then she walked off in a huff as though I had done something wrong! Normallt they are pretty good but that last visit was beyond a joke with a filthy store! Crumbs all over seats, floor & tables. Noone wanting to clean the table off for you and dirty cutlery and serviettes...I shouldve almost expected 2nd hand...
Read moreMy 85-year-old mum visited earlier this week. Her simple (and regular) order of "Barely a Bite" and a black tea was not delivered. She received her tea, but when she questioned the missing meal, she was argued with and told she never ordered it. The staff member insisted she hadn’t placed the order, never once offering to remake it in case of a misunderstanding. Frustrated, she eventually gave up and said, "Just forget it, I’ll just have my black tea."
Fast forward to today (three days later). We went for our regular meet-up. I ordered a beef burger—minus lettuce, tomato, and mayo. Simple, right? Apparently not. I was served just a beef patty in a bun, nothing else. I politely returned it, explaining that I had ordered a beef burger without lettuce, tomato, or mayo.
The meal came back—this time with everything: lettuce, tomato, mayo, and, inexplicably, cucumber (no idea how that got added). At that point, I returned it again and asked for a refund.

Read moreI've been a regular at this Miss Maud for years and overall have mostly had positive experiences. The food is always delicious. I have noticed over time the serving sizes decreasing drastically, especially regarding dine in meals like the Swedish meatballs. I feel I am not getting my money's worth for what I have paid. The staff over the years have mostly been good and polite. I can see a lot of younger people being trained there recently and I feel they are under the pump and perhaps not receiving enough training because of the rush. There are definitely more mistakes made when I've dined in. Some are definitely honest small mistakes that happen to anyone, I have often seen the older folk berating the young servers for simple mistakes and it breaks my heart. You can see that they try their best and are learning. I have seen many of them improve. Takeaway orders are always quick and friendly exchanges.
