For a long time I've been avoiding this establishment after several poor experiences with food and service after it first opened several years ago.
After a good takeaway meal at their Mount Lawley store, we decided to try again.
There were good and less-so experiences to be had.
The grilled barramundi was lovely, as was the mixed salad. The order also included chips, which were not great. Not horrible, just not great. Too soft would be the best way to describe them.
Price for the above was $38 and although presented as a single meal was sufficient for two of us. We felt that it represents value for money.
Payment was made using a credit card and to my surprise the stated price did not include their credit card surcharge, which came in at an above average 1.658%.
When I queried this, I was told that staff had been instructed not to reveal this fee. I'm fairly sure that the ACCC would disagree.
The shop itself is a hive of activity, plenty of people coming and going, not much in the way of atmosphere, but plenty functional.
There's a few opportunities to eat out on the front stoop, but you're pretty close to traffic, so perhaps eating in a nearby park is an alternative.
Staff is friendly, service speed about average.
There's about half a dozen parking bays, but check before driving in, since it's pretty compact. There used to be parking out the back, but I'm not sure if that still exists. There's two bays on the side street. Turnover is pretty swift, so you should be pretty right most...
Read moreThis is our local and we were so excited when it opened ages ago. We keep coming back because we love the grilled fish and chips. But honestly, it is the customer service that draws us back every time. There's much to be said about the customer service levels in Perth but this little fish and chip shop really knows how to make the customer feel welcome. Its always nice to be greeted by friendly welcoming faces (no matter how busy they are). Last week, we walked to the store and decided to eat there at the last minute. It was 38 degrees that day and we'd forgotten to purchase drinks (as we planned to eat at home). The store came and gave us two cool drinks "on the house" as it was so hot. Later when we went to leave, they told us to wait three more minutes - and they gave us free dessert (Deep fried oreos!). This is a lovely, family owned business and if you want quality fish and chips with great customer service, then please don't walk past Oh My Cod (P.S. (Fish) Taco Tuesday is a thing! - you...
Read moreI couldn't agree more with all these positive comments of this great fish and chip shop called oh my cod. There are so many bad fish & chip shops around these days that are charging money for bad quality food where as oh my cod is exceptional. Chips are cooked to perfection, their fish is what it's supposed to be being that it cooked to perfection and what you ask for is what you get. Full marks to my 'oh my cod' I can see how they have won so many awards. Even though we don't live close by we will just go to a local park and eat them or sit on the little table and chairs outside the shop and eat them if the table isn't already taken. Obviously if we take them home by the time we get home they would be sweaty and soggy so that's why we eat them straight away fresh. The staff are incredible and full marks to...
