I dropped my mum here while I went to another place. I checked they finish at 2pm today. Coffee machine was already closed. So she bought a bottle of drink. And they start to clean. But in charge(not sure. She said he looks like in charge of that cafe) said she can stay. After he left the cafe, the staff asked my mum to leave. My mum said I need to wait for someone until 1:20 in here. And they said, they closed early due to Christmas week. But according to the poster, they only closed early on Christmas eve to boxing day. They gave her milk container to seat outside. And kick her out. But they stayed inside until 1:15 to eat lunch and chill themselves.
I can understand they can close early if they don't have any customers. But she only stayed 30 minutes inside and waited outside for another 30 minutes under bloody hot weather. Today is 40 degrees!! And she is an old lady! Almost 70! Was that really the best option? Kick her out and you guys stay inside to eat and chill you guys self and look her throw window?
She can't speak English. So she used to translate on her phone. There can be misunderstandings. But if I were there as 1 of the staff, I would never leave her outside under bloody hot weather. If I really need to close, then I can let her in until I finish my work. I was really angry when I heard that. And that was even meant to be opening time!
I write down in order of time. 12:20 I dropped her 12:50 They kicked my mum out to close 1:15 They left 1:20 I pick her up
Was just 5min after they left. But my mum stayed...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE! Really DISAPPOINTED 😞 I went in today excited to get a jaffle and saw there wasn't much left. I took some extra time to choose what else I wanted. Despite there being no one behind up the girl behind the counter was standing there staring at us in the most uncomfortable way. I then ordered the scambled egg, ricotta and spinach one. When I got it I began eating it and noticed onion which I am intolerant too and mushroom which I hate. I went to the girl at the counter and showed her and she just said that what you ordered. When I explained it was no she goes oh whoops those are two different ones. She didn't try apologise or rectify the situation and she didn't fix the sign either. I will be finding other places to spend my money from now on.
Update. Owner replied and said she did apologise and it the signs were fine... why would I order something I am intolerant to..... and why would not go through the effort of making a review if I didn't experince what I did. I have now made it 1 star due to the terrible reply from the owner. I gave them an opportunity twice to rectify the situation and instead they have belittled and...
Read moreSuch a lovely local gem! Great coffee, thoughtful food, and super friendly staff — it really feels like a neighborhood spot where everyone knows each other. The owner was chatting with regulars the whole time, which made the atmosphere even warmer.
There are so many different jaffles to choose from (I had serious decision paralysis 😅), but my top picks are the bacon, egg & hash brown, and the butter chicken ones — both are amazing.
I also tried the Dang Dang Benedict this time and loved it. I thought it might be too heavy with the beef and sauce, but the kale balanced it out surprisingly well. The avocado on toast came with a white sauce (not sure what it was, but it worked beautifully with pesto!) — really brought the whole dish together.
So glad to have such a cozy and delicious spot in the...
