We stayed at the plaza for 5 nights. We had a king room. The bed was delightful.. so comfy! Air-conditioning was super cool. Bathroom a little on the pokey side for the price, but fresh and modern. I really enjoyed the view over kal each night from the balcony. Our balcony was unfortunately popular with some pigeons that were quite messy, but the housekeeping team was attentive to the mess. We had the buffet breakfast most mornings, which was nice and had choices of hot or continental. I was a little disappointed in the dinner options, and for the prices, just a little bit of polishing on your teams table service would be a perhaps something to consider... our main meals came out separately (there were 2 of us), and the entree plates hadn't been cleared. Nothing major, just those few attention to detail bits that make it special. We didn't use the pool, but it looked nice. Watching the storm roll through was a highlight from the balcony. It was super windy but I was happy to see the birds that had a nest in the tree out the front made out through...I heard other guests talking about the birds in the next the next day in the dining room. On the parking, if you want to park it the back, get in early... not that I think you'd have any problems out the front, but it fills up quickly. Overall, it's a good stay.

The hotel seemed to be nice and recently upgraded, but there were some small oversights that made the bathroom very frustrating and the doona cover (there was none, simply a sheet, doona then another sheet... it wasn't nice getting a face full of actual used doona overnight...). In the bathroom the small issues just seemed stupid, as per attached photos... 1) The hand towel sitting right above the bin, so when it dropped a tiny bit it was basically in the bin! 2) Shower towels above the toilet? Is this very hygienic? Why not put the mirror over the sink where you would use it more and put the towels in that location?? 3) The basin tap... could it be any smaller and have to have my hand resting on the actual sink to be able to wash it, and get water splashed all over the cupboard next to it at the same time? This could easily be longer and use the actual sink properly. 4) The shower had very minimal water pressure, so basically had to stand directly underneath it to wash yourself properly. Not a problem. if you could but you have to make way for the liquids and not to mention the large soap holder (that you don't get soap to put in??) pushes you closer to the door as well. I'm not a big guy either, but being an average male height made shower time very difficult.

Was nice room but the actual building is quite dated. Wasn't a fan of shadecloth as a privacy screen around the pool however pool water was clean which is nice.pool towels nice and thick. Lifts were really quick also a plus. Breakfast average, pancakes cost extra which I would expect to be included in a buffet breakfast, poached eggs were not good, wet and overcooked. Service was good overall. Dinner was very nice tomahawk steak, cooked perfectly and the jus was delicious.

The location is ostensibly good but you are only 100m from the Exchange Hotel, so dont be surprised to hear the drunken fighting, bottle throwing and shouting competition that happens when the pub shuts every night. The rooms themselves would be considerate adequate IF they were half the price or in Baghdad or Soviet Moscow. 4 Movie channels but two of them are just adverts for the 1st two. The room was Spartan with nothing in the fridge except for a handful of milk portions, Is there a milk shortage I am unaware of ? Speaking of shortages, there is a distinct lack of water pressure in the shower, I realize its such a towering height being on the 1st floor but the shower pressure wouldn't even wash away my tears of disappointment There was more pressure to attend the "restaurant" , presumably so they could gouge me more as you you dont even get a mintie on the pillow after being rodgered at this price. Funnily enough, most times i went down there it was empty and the only people eating seemed to be staff, even though they were eating i was told they are "closed" Interestingly enough, the "guide" in the room stated the coffee machine was always on between 7AM and 9PM , well that must be what time they have coffee in Paris because the staff only served me a blank look with a large...
